Couples annual photo verification

Over the years we have, on various profiles found a large number of photo verified couples profiles that (normally) the female is no longer on the scene or part of the couple.
As a couple we would be happy to resubmit a new verification image each year to prove we are still a couple, are both still on the scene and using fab and earn our little green tick.
This may help reduce the number of fake/no longer a couple profiles on the site.
Any thoughts on this? |

It should be daily not annual.

That's not a bad idea. Perfectly logical.
What do you suggest the site owners / admin do in those cases where a couple can not provide such a photo - i.e. because they are no longer a couple?
Should their account be temporarily suspended until they can inform site admin which half of the couple is still active so it can be changed and then any meet verifications be removed - as clearly they were gained as a couple |

They could just lose the photo verification flag. It must be possible to set a tine limit for it to be removed after 12 months! |

Maybe have a red flag instead of a green one? |

Firstly good idea and we would be happy to reverify yearly, would also like it to be compulsory to unlock/use the site but the resistance against it is both baffling and a concern.
Know of several instances where a no longer couple is used by only one half after parting company
It's been all too frequent since covid hit
Since Christmas we can think of 2 instances one was a guy who had split not only that tried to transfer his new FWB in place of his previous partner!
Other is more sad a chap from a couple wife had passed away. Real sorry for his loss but felt a bit uneasy about the profile been still in use as unfair on others |

I'm always amazed that in an age where you can get free apps to face swap photos, photo editing software is so advanced and where deep fake porn videos can be created by anyone using anyone's face.....that so many people are willing to put so much faith in a photo?
There are much better tools to establish if someone is genuine or not and none of them are found online.

I agree with this. Seen loads of profiles where it's obviously been a couples profile. Couple have split and single guy has kept profile. Admin then change it to a single male profile but he gets to keep all the couple veri.
Sorry but these veris are no longer valid as he could be totally different to when they met as a couple.
Surely if profile is changed from couple to single the previous veris should be removed at the very least.
Personally I think they should need to set up a new profile same as singles moving into couples have to do |

Life is always better with more rules!
Oh hang on a minute…
Or, filter effectively, look out for red flags and don’t expect the nanny state to hold your hand? |

There is a percentage ( sadly ) of single guys claiming to be couples , with the guy saying ‘claiming ‘ she wants to be discreet , yet He / They ( excuse prounouns’ lol) want to meet for sex with others , the concept of an annual together photo is a great idea |

GONE/TIMEOUT (No DMs please) |
Best way is to just look for recent verifications, as if you add more rules, it just makes it hassle for the genuine and the fakes will get round them anyway.
There are many single guys posing as couples, uploading photos from 2007 as if we wouldn't notice.
But just do your due diligence, if you can't speak to the female half, then move on.

If it's that obvious that it's a single guy and not a couple.....where is the need for change?
Seems everyone is already able to spot these 'non'couple' profiles going by all the comments so they should be easy to ignore and avoid.
Fab is a contact site. It doesn't police who you choose to engage with, who you plan to meet or how you interact with others. It's not responsible for making sure you've checked that the person/people you're talking to are the right sex, age, sexuality etc.
We're all adults on here. Do people really need hand holding and baby sitting in order to be able to meet other adults for sex?
Really?

Single men account for a lot of the problems on Fab. But it should not be forgotten that a lot of the single men are site supporters which ultimately helps keep the main features of the site free for many couples and singles who chose not to pay. Without the knowledge there are X amount of couples and X amount of single women here, I doubt if joining or paying to be a site supporter would be as attractive to those single men. This idea seems entirely sensible on its own merits, and appeals to me greatly. But I can see how it might have the potential side-effect of lowering the amount of couples Fab can advertise as being members because there will always be those couples who can't be bothered to update their photo, and that in turn could affect the amount of revenue collected from single male site supporters. That's a boat I'd be very wary of rocking if I ran this site.
A mate told me he was talking to a couple for ages shortly after he re-joined Fab. Or rather he thought it was a couple. Verifications. Photos. Everything was pukka. Or so he thought. After a while he started to get a slight nagging feeling something wasn't quite right. Eventually, through conversation, he noticed a lot of things were talked about in the past tense. Slowly he realised the wife had left and been strung along by the husband, who was in a state of denial. That's why I have never meet anyone unless I feel I can trust them. That takes time and conversation. There's no better substitute really. |

Fakes can get around this, if they so wish.
We've only been photo verified this past year ish, and hadn't bothered before then, of around 15+ years on and off this site.
This will give the volunteer mods more work for a little difference.
I doubt this will be implemented.
Though it seems like a good idea, there will still be some that change within that year or get around it with a fake/old photo.
I think, what could help is when a couples profile comes to an end, any single profile from that could have an automated verification to say they have previously been verified via a different profile, when they were here as a couple.

As a single male I find it easy to spot the genuine couples.
As said above it's not really adding anything, except to the server space and the current workload of the mods.
There are tons of advice across the forums, to "sort the wheat from the chaff" so to speak. |

I would support this. It is not infallible and would still continue to use our own system to spot the fakes but it would certainly help reduce the number a little.
I would also advocate being able to report those who make their verification photo public. It not hard to screen grab the photo and wait. Sooner or later one of those profiles will leave the site and you then have a quick and easy way to fake a couples profile. If I can think of that then I am pretty sure there are plenty of single guys who have done the same. |

Honestly we never actually take the photo verification to mean anything.
We've been messaged by someone before with a username that alluded to being a silver fox, with pictures that corresponded to that. A slightly older gentleman with silver/greying hair.
2 Weeks later we're messaged by them again, this time their profile is pictures of a black bald man, and they attach pictures to the message of a black bald man. So clearly not a silver fox.
I'm guessing they got photo verified with their actual photos, and the first time round was genuinely them and for some reason a few weeks later they deleted all their pictures and uploaded ones of a completely new person.
They were photo verified and meet verified, and messaged us as a single male claiming to be in their 40s, white, silver/grey hair and then 2 weeks later in their 40s, black, and no hair.
So would be a welcome change, the verification system can very easily be gamed on Fab.
It's like the guy on here that messages the exact same message to every 18-25 year old woman on the website every 2 weeks and has a bunch of verifications from women that have 1 verification and never logged on again and conveniently he supposedly spent about £10,000 on them on a meet and spoilt them. Even though he copy and pastes his message to basically everyone woman on the website every 2 weeks. Would wager people in here probably already know who I'm talking about. |
