dear admin, as so many new single women are bombarded and often put off in hours; would it be beneficial not to add the new NEW flag to their profile? just a thought

Not quite the same and sorry for hijacking... But Admin, it'd be good if the "newbie" label stayed a bit longer than a few days... I have them filtered but I think that only lasts 3 (or 5 maybe) days.

Yeah if you go on holiday for two weeks you might want to know who was new in the last two weeks not just the last five days.

It's not so much the flag that gets them bombarded. It's the option to click on 'New Women' in the browse section that makes them an easy target.

When they join they get advice of how to use filters and where they are, I suppose it is up to them if they use them or get bombarded.

Hey, it isn't my fault this MEMBER thinks women shouldn't need help from male members to decide wether they get fewer mails mails or not.

The filters are there to be used as far as I am concerned.

How about a simple filter to limit the number of messages a newbie can receive each day. Set it at, say, 10 and let the new person raise it to a level they're comfortable with and after, say, 3 months that filter falls away..?

Perhaps solution is to expand the newbie sign up stage to include setting privacy and messaging filters with guidance on pros/cons of each setting. That way they are in control from day 1 and are not deluged with 100s of messages.

I hate to think that genuine people are put off simply because the system defaults are setting them up for a heavy mailbag.
