Fake profiles

I keep seeing the same profiles popping up time and time again. They appear, clearly get a lot of messages and then disappear.

Why do the mods let them get set up

In the first place? Is there not a mechanism using the IP address to spot the same people setting up profiles repeatedly?

What can they achieve by having a profile up for an hour? I have had a couple of teasing conversations that i thought could lead to a meet and then suddenly the profile disappears.

Maybe they are a genuine single female or couple who join then get overwhelmed with the amount of messages they got as a newbie. Then decide that the site is not for them and leave.

I’m sure some of the low quality low effort fancy a fuck meet now type of messages would put some women off of the site.

Not being rude OP but the instances you mention of profiles disappearing mid chat with you maybe weren't going as well as you thought?

Why would they delete their profile then because of one bad chat? They could just stop replying.

If it was as just my chat that they didn’t enjoy, then they would ghost me and carry on chatting to others

They could've been receiving numerous messages from other users and got put off by the site its not a nice feeling to be in when just joining trying to find their own feet

Midway through setting up our profile, while still filling in the mandatory fields, no profile photos and absolutely zero biog, not even got as far as setting our filters, we received 20+ messages.

Some dick pics, a few you're beautifuls, several FaF's and a couple of meet nows.

If I hadn't been expecting it I'd have wondered WTF I was letting us in for.

Must be overwhelming/intimidating for anyone new.

I honestly think you shouldn't be able to message new profiles for a week. (unless they message you of course)

Why would you even initiate a teasing conversation with profiles like that?

If you can't see the red flags and keep doing the same thing over and over why would you expect a different outcome?

I am not sure that would mean they were fake and if they left of their own accord then they are allowed to start a new profile and come back if they wish.

However, that's not to say there isn't people who join that are fake or scammers, but Admin do a lot of work behind the scenes to get rid of.

It's work that goes un-noticed, so people frequently think nothings being done, it is, we just don't see it, and rightly so.

Because they are probably getting the same chat from numerous people at the same time. When I first joined I deleted my profile a few hours due to the influx of messages asking to meet,telling me on a completely blank profile I was sexy as hell,and then I had the guys acting all nice telling me they weren't like all the other creeps and then asking to meet. So ye it was too much and I deleted it until a friend told me about filters and I came back set them tight.

What I don't understand is why so many pounce on new profiles do they think getting in first gives them a better chance of a meet.If it is happening to you a lot op then you are more than likely doing exactly what makes people leave.

I have a similar problem with fake profiles particularly men pretending to be women or couples. I've reported loads and asked for feed back but never hear anything , if I tell the profile that I've reported them I immediately get blocked but usually the profile stays. I've tried naming and shaming but admin are very quick to ban me , it seems unfair as most are free members and I'm a site supporter, do others have the same problem???

When you report a profile you get a message saying you won't get feedback. Admin get hundreds of reports a day to read though so they don't have enough time to send feedback too

Naming and shaming is breaking rules as well as possible fakes, so you can't really complain if you are banned for it, as you would want any fake people sanctioned.

I will paste a post Admin has posted in the past, it explains what happens to a verified report.

Here is an explanation from Admin from another thread on how they deal with reports.

******Just a quick note. If people report others and we can verify that they have broken site rules, we always take action (either a first and final warning, partially suspended account, fully suspended, mixture of the above).

Every single report sent via the REPORT link is reviewed. Clearly it's not in our interests to have people on here who are bad for the site. Equally we need to verify what has been reported and be fair to those who have been reported.

PS. we never provide feedback on what has happened. It's just not practical given that we get 100s of reports a day.

Here is what the page says after a report has been submitted:

Your feedback has been saved.

A website admin will shortly review your feedback and take the necessary action. After reviewing the evidence available to us, we may disable an account, remove a user, disable certain aspects of that user's account or issue a warning.

By leaving feedback you help improve the site for everyone who uses it. Thank you.******
