Hello,
Just a simple suggestion, not sure how practical or efficient it is though. Sent it as a suggestion to the site, and thought maybe I'd see others think about it. 
Lots of accounts are complaining about being not interested in chatting/meeting anyone who isn't local or not within a certain distance.
Would it be helpful if there is a message filter that can block messages from accounts after a certain distance, same as what's already there for certain ages? And of course, the wink will still bypass that. Guess it can also be done as a preference; some users add a certain age range but don't block the rest, just as a hint to whoever is going to message. Again, same as with age.
Of course, some will try and work their way around it, but it will probably limit the unwanted bombardment of messages for some users!
Thinking about it as someone in the software field, it won't be hard to implement given it's kind of is already. Site developers may have a different opinion though.
