There are so many profiles with 18-99 as the age range they are looking for. Could the site not be changed to force users to enter the range rather than leave them as default? Yes, some will still enter 18-99 but a lot would give it some proper thought and enter a realistic range. |

Why?
An 18-99 range gives pretty much every site user an opportunity to get in touch, assuming they want to.
What's the issue? Normally people are complaining when they can't make contact due to age filters. I've never seen anyone in my 14 years on here actually request people be forced to pick certain ages.

That's not the point I was making though.
People can have preferences and if that excludes certain ages then that's fine. Yes, you may feel they're missing out but they don't. It can be frustrating if you're a year or two outside of someones filters but that's life. If you go to clubs few care about age and will rarely ask what it is, so your chances improve in environments where age specific filters don't come into play.
My point was that there's little point moaning when someone doesn't state an age preference as that opens doors that may otherwise have been shut.

Ultimately we all have choices and no matter what age range or other preference we put on our profile - we are not bound by them - in the same manner that just because we match a lot of preferences with others it doesn't mean we are obligated to engage with them. Many of us keep our profile preferences quite open because we like the profile to get decent coverage in peoples searches. |

In my view, if there was to be any change to the way things are now, I would suggest that the site automatically sets a default based on users own age, for example, ten years either sude or something, when profile is set up, with the user able to ammend it as they desire |
