How can u still read messages after deletion

I recently sent a message to a user on here and later deleted the message. He logged on and read the message that I deleted how?

Can somebody explain to me how he could do this surely if u delete a message it should not be there for the person to read.

you can delete it your end but the recipient will still be able to read it

do unread messages get deleted automatically after a certain time? We have dropped by 9 overnight , it's not due to profiles being deleted , and I'm guessing isn't because it's been deleted from the other person's end based on your comment

Yes they do but I think it's quite a long time frame possibly 2 months if they are unread they drop from your inbox
