The update time on the site is not good. Profiles showing as online when people have actually logged off as much as 30 minutes ago. In these times of fast internet connections it’s pretty poor. Can a mod please respond to comment?
Many thanks |

Thanks for your reply. Not being picky but right now there are people showing online and when you click on their profile they’re showing as being offline for more than 20 minutes. Just feedback for you that’s all. Hope you have a great day |

Websites like this are built as "stateless", infact most are nowadays to allow the infrastructure to be upscaled with higher demand. This means there is no such thing as a connection or session anymore. So I assume the developers have built in some logic to cache interactions from users and display these as last seen statuses - they'll be rough guesses at best as nobody knows if they're still on a page or closed their browser ten minutes ago. Same goes with locational data being cached.
But I do agree with the comment above that it feels a little stalkerish to want live statuses anyway. Does it matter if they are online now, or 10mins ago? If you want live chat thats what the chatroom is for, isn't it? |
