Renewal

I've had the automated renewal message that says, site supporter ends in five days time, renew now and get five extra days.

I'm a bit confused.

If I renew five days early, I gain nothing because I've renewed fibe days early anyway.

Do the extra five days get added after the five days I've already paid for and renewed early?
