Meaningless verifications?

A few weeks ago I met a couple at a club, we chatted, we exchanged verifications afterwards. The interaction was platonic, there was no sexual interest either way. Within the last week or so, their profile has been changed to single male, apparently by site admin because they were reported as being a guy not a couple.
I'd say I'm fairly neutral, I have no axe to grind nor any reason to make up a verification. There were definitely two of them, on that occasion and when I bumped into them again on anither night. They were as far as I could tell a couple, and have a verification from another person too.
Their response to it was maybe a little ranty but I'd hope that wouldn't cloud a good admin's view of the facts. But while it's not my place to judge admin's decisions, it raises a number of questions.
- Do in person verifications mean nothing, if someone can decide they're not who or what they say?
- How does that leave me looking? I've verified a couple that admin now says isn't genuine.
I've no reason to make it up and no desire to get involved in other people's problems, but at the same time it hardly looks good on me that I've apparently verified a 'fake' profile.
Maybe there's more to it, I don't know. But then why leave veris on their profile that say they are a couple if it's been 'proven' they aren't? As I say, not interested in getting involved in their issues with mods but I do rather take umbrage at the implication that my verification isn't true. |

Have the couple possibly parted ways? |

Having read that profile it is full of inconsistencies and obviously said other things than it currently does now beforehand so who knows what it said whenever a decision was made.
From the tone of the profile, however, even if I was the demographic they seek there is no way I would given the words and tone on the profile. |

From looking at the profile it looks very much like it was/is a single man operating alone. He may have been with a woman when you saw him but that doesn’t mean there isn’t something off about the fab profile. The text makes clear it’s only him that meets, so maybe that’s why it was changed. Other veris suggest he operates alone too.
I’d be tempted to ask admin to remove your veri. Although given to current content of the profile bio I’d be surprised if it’s not banned before long. |

Block them and the veri disappears. Simples.

Who knows. Question is really do I leave it as is, or ask for it removing - which would make things nice and awkward next time I bump into them (yes, assuming they're still a couple)
IIRC he plays, she watches was the general dynamic.
All very odd... |

It isn't that you have verified a fake profile, they may well have been a couple at the time and they don't play as a couple now |

The best option is for the person themselves to ask Admin to review for them from the contact button but they should be patient while they get to it |
