My apologies if this has been suggested before but....
there seems to me to be justiable argument for limiting inbox messages to say a maximum of 50 .
couples and single females continually complain that there isnt sufficient time to respond to all the messages they get and routinely do a mass delete of messages without even viewing them .
perhaps if people had to deal with the messages they already had before the system allowed any further messages , then couples and females wouldnt feel bombarded with messages and have time to deal with the ones theyve had .
In addition people sending mails would realize that the member they are trying to mail has a full inbox so therefore it may be worth waiting a day or two before sending a well composed message knowing that it is more likely to be read .
This seems like a win win for everyone to me . |

"but then, she wouldnt have time to read any new mail anyway , because if she had , she would have read the ones in inbox in the first place .
kind of proves my point really ."
Your point relies on the presumption that peeps only use messaging to make first contact - not to communicate with peeps already in contact with..
By your method her inbox may be full of one line messages so preventing her getting important message e.g. Details of a social, so in order to receive that important message she would simply bulk delete all messages - including your unread message (even if you'd be perfect compatible) as she needs space to be able to receive the other message she waiting for |

There is already a limit on messages displayed in your inbox.
Eg older ones drop off after a certain number until you delete and they return at the bottom.

Hmmm not really....we have mail in our inbox now that I don't want to answer yet so have left them, but the people we are speaking to with a view to arranging a meet might mail us and we will answer those |

Who are these people with endless messages they can't cope with....Im lucky to receive a few a day but then again those wee filters and delete buttons apparently do what it says on tin. If anything Fab's messaging structure is very outdated and unimaginative and in serious need of a reprogram to enable people like me to group messages from recipients, to filter in date order, name order etc and then after which I shall seek treatment for my OCD lol x |
