By asking couples to send a new validation pic every year should stem this type of fake profile. |

If they are seeking meetings, other users should fairly quickly deduce that it's a single person and not a couple. Each of us would then report the user, which Admin would investigate.
If people unscrupiously use images of a couple, they would probably almost as easily submit another 1 after a year, if forced to. It would probably take several years for people to be able to judge that the couple hadn't aged sufficiently, before the account was subject to investigation. In the meantime, others could assume a false sense of confidence that people are genuine.
Whilst it's a reasonable idea, I think that we probably all should assume full responsibility for not taking people at face value, without asking for video chats and meeting in person. And always reporting suspect couples who are probably just a single person. With an annual check, we'd probably just have repeated new profiles being made, whenever updated pics were due.
It's hard to understand why men do this, other than to get wank fodder - this does seem desperate - and to have power over others, by deception. 
Changes obviously increase fab costs and likely displace other site improvements that people could benefit from. Is it the highest priority change we could have? I'd wager that it isn't, although it's an issue. It would also increase the workload on mods, who'd need to approve them. |
