It seems that lots of new members, especially women, are inundated with messages as soon as they join. This may be part of the reason women are far outnumbered, as they leave beforethey get the hang of how Fab works.
Would it be possible for all new profiles to automatically block everyone from messaging them? Then an automated reminder with an appropriate link could be sent in 2/3 weeks advising them about filter options.
I think it might encourage more single ladies to stay. |

Essential on joining to go to straight to privacy settings. As a couple, we were inundated with dick pics within minutes of joining the site (paid member). Put the other half off and we deleted our profile within a week. Didn’t last long. Few weeks later we were back on!!!! Did the privacy setting first thought. |

You do know that the option to hide the profile is available so they can view the site at their own pace and if they wish to message anyone they can without getting loads of people messaging |

I doubt that getting masses of messages is the only reason ladies leave Fab.
Maybe they look and decide the scene isn't for them.
Some ladies will enjoy the fun of getting lots of messages.
If they don't get any messages at all they may leave for that reason.
Newbie men leave too. |

Like most site's some words do get censored maybe this could be used it could control women or guys suffering abuse via messages for whatever reason I understand are other filters available but this could also stop the abuse if certain words were restricted. |

While that's true I doubt anyone joining from minute 1 understands or appreciates the implication not hiding your profile.
Who could possibly contemplate getting hundreds of messages within hours of joining?
I think it's a good idea.

Could also be the information before the link having to click the link with further information at bottom click the box as a statement they understand and get connected to the site given a user to browse filters before hand would help loads as well I've helped loads of people new, pointing out where filters are but even filters Don't stop unwanted abuse via messages and regardless new or not have left I can say this because they were my friends but will be others. |
