"That is not a workable idea. It would be wide open to abuse from both parties. " I think that's a little closed minded, there are solutions to everything and whilst I don't have all the answers I'm sure between us and fab we can find the right way to go about it and of course the point here is to minimize the abuse of others somehow not make it worse

"You've posted in the right place to make your suggestion known to admin I can see one problem. What's to stop people confirming at step 2, both turning up but one person isn't happy for some reason and still reports as not arriving." Yes I thought about that, there will be a way around it however and I'm just wanting to point us in the right direction here, together we might find the answers! I do think even if that were to happen it would still minimize the disrespectful behaviour by acting more as a deterrent esp if fab makes it clear that time wasting is not cool. The same way when leaving a verification we get given options and warnings about leaving fake verifications, we could have options and warnings about time wasting. Anyone else have some solutions here?

"Many fabbers are becoming disheartened by the amount of time wasting that has reached an all time high on fab, it literally seems to be 2 out of 3 meets either cancel last minute or more often than that block, ghost or vanish leaving us very upset after having spent time getting ready and travelling etc and we've had enough! Please introduce a deterrent for this disrespectful behaviour and make fab great again! It could be a 2 step private process where both parties could first confirm the meet and then an extra step to log that you're 'getting ready and on way to meet' with users being penalised for ghosting, blocking or vanishing at this point. Reporting users for not turning up doesn't seem to be working as nothing happens to them and most people don't even know about this feature. We pay good money to be on this site and would like this site to support its genuine users. Many many thanks x" I've really liked both your inputs about this issue! Thanks for adding x

" It happens and no real solution to the problem as most times they leave and come back with a different user name !!?? and we've been classed as "Time wasters" or even "Fake" by a fair few due to us not willing to have "FUN/Sex" with them or even willing to do last minute type of meets and the trouble with it being now classed as a "Sex Site" or rather it being allowed to be called one ?? as if the majority of new members don't get any action within a day....... " The system I propose wouldn't affect you if you didn't 'confirm meet' and if people are willing to lose their account with verifications etc and come start it all from scratch then so be it

If an account gets X amount of reports in a twelve month period, IP ban them. If they sign up with a VPN but use the same pics and details, ban again for circumventing the original ban. As it stands even eBay has better measures in place against time wasters.

"Whilst I recognise the issue, and agree that often there seem to be a lot of time wasters and fakes messing people about, I can appreciate that genuine people may have a genuine reason for having to call off a meet last minute due to a family emergency or something. Real life can often interfere. Perhaps a method where fab provides a system for confirming a meet but also provides members with the ability to cancel the meet - with the other party being notified. Then again, this is not a particularly simple web 'add on' and may take a good deal of programming, setting up of data bases etc. I applaud the OP for coming forward and raising the issue though as it has affected a lot of us over the years. What the perfect solution is though, is completely beyond me" Yes real life gets in the way which is why I suggested the 2 step idea to allow for cancellations before anyone has started getting ready or travelling. The solution might not be as complicated as it seems, just another questionnaire page with options and warnings and extra options in the report categories perhaps

This makes no sense as you're suggesting that they pay their good money to waste my time! Point is that time wasting has reached epidemic proportions and something needs to be done to prevent it, I can often spend 90mins getting ready for a meet, another hour cleaning the house and waiting and another couple of hours feeling like crap when they don't even have the decency to let me know they're not coming afterwards! I don't want to become a bitter person but the numbers are just too high for me to just sweep under the carpet

I've had plenty of bad experiences with verified and site supporter guys. A new system is needed, something that is a little more in depth and allows us to screen people a little better.

"Reporting users for not turning up" ??? You are walking here straight into a legal minefield. Did you have any kind of legally enforceable contract when you agreed to meet? Don't think so. People may decide in the last moment that after all they don't feel like meeting, that something else that popped up is far more urgent, or that another possibility sounds more interesting. Happens, it's called real life. Live with it.

Simply asking fab for a better (and simple) system to avoid people arranging to meet when they really have no intention or haven't thought it through properly or are just having a wank at home and enjiy the fabtasy but not the reality. Fab is not meant to be a fantasy porn site

"Op, In the meantime. Would it be a good idea if you had a different method of sussing who's genuine about meeting and who's a fantasist? Maybe have more in-depth questions, proof of their location whilst you talk to them, for example. I'm sure you've thought about it already X" Yep I'm getting better at it for sure! Some people are just so convincing unfortunately x

"maybe fab could help on everyones profile where they list verifications by so many meets, they could also add a extra meets canceled, this would then alert anyone to arranging a meet with someone with a high number of meets cancelled tab" Good idea keep it simple

Fab is not meant to be a fantasy porn site " To be fair though, nothing Admin put in place would stop people getting horny, arranging a meet, having a wank and then not bothering turning up We have been on these sites for years and learnt very early on to watch for the signs of people who just need wank fodder so didn't entertain anyone in this way when talking to people. Use your gut to work out the people who you think won't meet , it is easier than you think after recognising a few signs

People already risk losing their accounts, if Fab receives feedback on them, that is unacceptable to Fab. People get reported for not turning up but fab currently may have limited evidence. The OPs proposal would allow the site and users to have greater control and information. If it is a future meet, I'd have these displayed in the user's main page, as a prominent reminder.

It's more that I think something simple could be put in place to have a deterrent effect to the people that arrange to meet but not show up, if a warning popped up in red when arranging to meet reminding people that it's against fab rules not to show up without cancelling even this would have a massive effect I'm sure. I wasn't even aware you could report people for arranging to meet but not turning up until last week I didn't even know it was against fab rules and I've been on fab for 5 years plus. So, just asking the admin people to do something, anything (!) to deter people from doing this
