I see you are getting desperate here as you have posted this before.
If it is any consolation you are not alone with this probem.
I have exactly the same problem. The sound is very distorted when on the chat page however if I go back to view a message in another window whilst chat is on the sound is perfect!
I suspect it has something to do with the processing speed of my computer and nothing more. Not really bothered about this as the classic way here is to view cam and type!
