Why do you block people who report profiles?

Jump to: Newest in thread

I've reported several profiles for requesting meets and I know other people who have done the same. We get blocked from being able to see the profile we've reported but the offending profile is still active. Why is that?

I know you say you "take action" against these accounts but the meet requests are rife and often multiple times by the same people. Why not just get rid of them for taking the piss rather than blocking those of us who do the right thing.

Likewise when reporting profiles with obviously stolen photos.

I agree , I’ve reported the same man loads of times , they blocked me from seeing he’s profile, how is this helping the NHS ? And he is still on here advertising for sex on a daily basis

Hi guys just been reading your comments, just to say that the sister site is just the same. I’ve realised over the time that I’ve used both sites there is no point in reporting any infringements about other users as they do nothing about them anyway. Quite expect to get my account suspended now for making these comments even though it’s absolutely true.

It makes a complete mockery of the "Solidarity with our NHS" banners. It's not difficult to see who is taking the piss like this so just remove them from the site. By actively blocking those who report them It's showing that you only want to create an illusion of doing something and stop repeat reports rather than actually targeting the culprits. Pretty irresponsible really.

We reported a profile a couple of days ago and it's now gone.

"We reported a profile a couple of days ago and it's now gone."

Has it actually gone or are you just blocked from seeing it? Someone I know thought the profile they'd reported was gone but when I looked, I could see it. They'd just blocked the person reporting again.

It's gone. I think blocking might just be the first step in any action taken. I dare say admin gets loads of reports and it just takes time to deal with them all.

Some of them are still there weeks later. Admin make more work for themselves blocking people unnecessarily, they can see the status requesting a meet - just get rid. Job done.

Does that mean that some you have reported have been removed? If so, maybe those were repeat offenders.

I guess it's up to the site owners to decide if/when a warning is appropriate before terminating an account.

That isn't how it works, if everyone was chucked off the site for one rule break there would hardly be anyone left. I will post what Admin do with reports onto the next post, please note they do a number of different things depending on the report, but a lot would get a warning first

Here is an explanation from Admin from another thread on how they deal with reports.

******Just a quick note. If people report others and we can verify that they have broken site rules, we always take action (either a first and final warning, partially suspended account, fully suspended, mixture of the above).

Every single report sent via the REPORT link is reviewed. Clearly it's not in our interests to have people on here who are bad for the site. Equally we need to verify what has been reported and be fair to those who have been reported.

Admin

PS. we never provide feedback on what has happened. It's just not practical given that we get 100s of reports a day.

Here is what the page says after a report has been submitted:

Your feedback has been saved.

A website admin will shortly review your feedback and take the necessary action. After reviewing the evidence available to us, we may disable an account, remove a user, disable certain aspects of that user's account or issue a warning.

By leaving feedback you help improve the site for everyone who uses it. Thank you.******
