Please stop allowing these, they are not an accurate representation of the people posting them

Imagine our disgust when the couple we met didn't have cute bunny ears, stars all around them, a perfect flawless orange skin tone, a single wrinkle on their 50 year old face, etc etc

Come on mods, it's not a hard job to do correctly

It isn't against rules at the moment to have bunny ears so the mods are doing their job correctly...I think some people think it is showing their fun side

Apologies in advance...

I went on a date once with a girl who had the whole dog face filter on her profile picture.

Needless to say, I was surprised when she had a normal, human face and the pedigree biscuits I took her were a total waste

Why don't you just ask them for a recent photo by direct mail?

I don't see the issue. People want to post photos that make them feel good about themselves, and a filter can only do so much. And what about good lighting, makeup, slimming colours.... Going to ban those too?

Imagine the shock and horror when people meet me for the first time, as a guy? You going to stop me posting photos as a girl because it's not "the real me?"

We wouldn't meet you as a guy because on here you are presenting as female so we would expect to meet what we see in the photos, if it's not the same as the photos then we walk away, wasting the persons time for wasting ours

You need to see a doc as all the colour has drained from you... or have you altered your image?

People just need to use common sense. If a filter is obvious enough for a mod to spot it, it should be obvious to everyone else too.

Ours represent us, what you see is what you get, minus the watermarks

Some might argue that a filtered photo is a computer generated image, so no longer an image of the original poster which goes against the site rules

But

Others might argue, it's a bit of fun

But yours are not original. They have been edited.

At what point do you draw the line?

I can't fully disagree with the OP's comments because there are some concerning good points, especially filters/apps which transformed your face totally - into opposite sex for eg.

It is no different from heavy photoshop-ing. Both can be detected though.

However I also agree that it is not the moderators job to disallow the pics as they are within the rules and their photos for their own profiles.

The only thing we can do is take control of our own action and maybe not meet (or meet) those with these kind of photos. Totally our own decision.

If the photos arent to your liking then just ignore the profile, it's that simple. I see filters in the same way as i see make up, they both alter the looks of the user to make them look different. Should they ban photos with makeup aswell? S loves using snap chat filters for her pics,as do alot of women her age. However we do have unfilterd of us in our friends only and we usually send unfiltered in messages for first contact.

While each to their own and it's not for the mods to sort out, I just find them childish and avoid like the plague!

If I was running a freak show and hoping to recruit exhibits, I'd be disappointed if some gorgeous person turned up to a meet instead.

You've got grey filters on your pics too.

Long term it will damage site, people will give up as too many fakes and people will just meet others in clubs where filters don't exist lol

I can count on one hand, the amount of times I or we have been sent Snapchat/Insta style filtered pics.

They don't do anything for me - I don't think I'm of that era

If you don't like when someone uses filters etc just pass them by, easy.

I often use but not always, mainly because the lighting in my house is appalling. Also though because im creative and I want my profile to stand out from the crowd. My photos give a true representation of who I am with only slight tweaking. My shopped pics are obvious but more for the artistic representation they offer than anything else

To add to this, the ones that change the sex of a person are easily identifiable to mods and members alike, most still have a five O'clock shadow even after being changed.

Having said that, if I put pics of my face up at my age please be aware the 5 O'clock shadow is all my own

Good point but I think it is no different from pictures where they don't show face/head at all.

I'm sure we can always ask for a non-filtered ones in private as how we ask for a face pic.

So are people going to be pissed off when I turn up and don’t have a giant emoji or a white splodge for a head?

I’m not a fan of heavily filtered photos either, and maybe it’s me showing my age, but I find the cartoon ears etc quite childish. But I don’t really care what people put on their profiles, as long as if they send me a face pic privately it’s a real one, not filtered to the point of being unrecognisable.
