Split TV and TS?
Jump to: Newest in thread
And then what sub sets should they be divided into next as the differences of those who are in the TV bracket and also the TS bracket are quite stark too.
While I do agree that TV and TS should be separated, the realities of doing so are still going to divide a lot of people so the questions and thoughts on this are many, varied and still going to cause issues.
And as has been said above, this has been done to death already so use the search facilities as best you can for your needs and accept the site as it is. |

"I wonder if TVs and TSs should have their own separate categories for searching rather than being lumped together? Two quite different things." just a question if I may ? Why would a straight man looking for mf and FF people on the site be so be bothered about the tstv category ? |

"Also op , are you aware of the fact that a lot of ts women both pre and post op change to the category of woman ? So specifically trying to find a TS is even more complicated "
Hi, yes I think that’s a really valid point. I suppose my point is exactly that; people should be able to identify as they wish (preferably authentically!) and that there may be lots of people who do identify as trans who would rather not be “othered” with Transvestites. I’m not particularly vested in this, just interested and asking the question. |

"I wonder if TVs and TSs should have their own separate categories for searching rather than being lumped together? Two quite different things." more of this,
rubbish. Put simply it's a small enough category. It doesn't need dissecting. In this day of gender neutral there are over 70 different categories. Do you really want to open a can of worms |

Of course, I’m simply saying there is a big difference between being gender diverse and enjoying dressing up in women’s clothes. Trans is a generally accepted umbrella term that accounts for the spectrum of gender diversity but differentiates from transvestites, hence my question. |

"I'm a, t girl. its simples really. Ask and you shall find out who is who and what is what its not that hard although on here it does seem that way "
My question wasn’t so much about making it easier to search for either TVs or Trans people, but for people to be able to label themselves in the way they feel is most appropriate for themselves, whilst not also being associated with another group of people they may have no affiliation with. Anyway, it was just a thought. |

I personally don’t like labels - for me, it’s about soul and sexual compatibility. However I do agree with the points made above |

"I wonder if TVs and TSs should have their own separate categories for searching rather than being lumped together? Two quite different things."
I think the issue with these posts that pop up every month or two is simple...
People presume that the divide line is physical when in reality it is more the mindset of the person who defines it. A ts becomes a ts as soon as she identifies as female, without being crass to outsiders she could still appear extremely male in appearance.
It’s not a search issue, any search will throw up people who you are highly attracted by and those who you aren’t.

"I sometimes think that requests for splitting this category along any line is code for 'TS like in the porn films' and t'others I think you have a valid point here Tina "
Totally... in reality it’s “can I have a filter for fake boobs and a massive cock please” |

Are you really one of the many “straight “ men on here who messages TV/TS asking to meet ?
Otherwise why would you be asking for this ? " |

"Trolls love reigniting this forum so best bet is to totally ignore them. " to be fair to the op I don't think his intentions were to troll , I've chatted with him privately and he's a nice guy in my opinion |

There’s never a debate if a MTF or FTM can now class themselves as a woman or a man prior to the op or after. It’s generally accepted on here that you decide your sex, even if you still have your penis or vagina.
The TV/TS community being on this site can be a bit divisive for some, that’s why this consistent request to separate the two regularly appears on the forums.
So for me just like your sexuality it’s something you decide on here, put yourself in whichever category is currently available. Three choices and plenty of room within the profile text to clear up any confusion.

Regardless of whatever the OP’s preference, when iI read his responses, I found that he comes across as someone who wants to be more informed and is articulate and welcoming to multi-gender world that we are finally becoming. That sort of talk is empowering and welcoming - and I would call the OP an ally rather than question his sexuality. |

I don't question the ops, sexual preferences. But it does, look odd that his profile does not give the slightest hint that he has any interest in the likes of us. I have a question Though why is it always the so called straight guys, who constantly ask these questions. The category has, worked fine all these years,so why change, anything. Why do people need things spelling out. It's not rocket science. I do question posts, like this,. I always, have, and I always will |

May I ask why does it look odd? I would like to think that as a community, straight people can ask questions and challenge the status quo.
Asking questions isn’t a crime if one doesn’t know, is intrigued or wants to enlighten oneself. I rather someone ask, instead of assuming. |

Hi, I can’t speak for other straight guys and I’m not regularly posting on here so haven’t seen previous threads on this topic; I actually still struggled to find some when I searched but think that is because of how the search function works on this forum.
I was merely thinking about it when I saw it on the search options and questioned what appeared to be “othering” which felt wrong to me. Of course it isn’t for me to determine whether it should change or not and the overwhelming response from the trans community seems to be that it shouldn’t. I am, of course, more than happy to support that. |

"There's another census this year, and doubtless there will be people who will identify themselves as Jedi again.
Perhaps Fab should create a category for Jedi?"
Yes please. Their robes drape ones body are so well that it’s hard not to find them sexy. All Jedi’s please identify yourself |
