Photo verification

If photo verification had to be of the face surely it would work towards ing out the fakes. Or another way of verifying you are who you say you are like on some dating sites where you post a pic doing a certain pose that is checked. What everyone’s thoughts on this?

Generally speaking I can't see it would make any difference.

I wouldn't expect a fake to go to the lengths of getting themselves verified, or am I missing something?

There are loads of photo verified profiles on here. Anyone can hold up a piece of paper with a username in. If the face is shown then when verified then they can’t post fake pics on

The face verification is already one of the 2 options for Fab...and there is already a request for a certain pose (to hold a piece of paper ect).

What you are proposing is not really much different to the system already in place.

The face is an option but not mandatory so it’s quite easy for someone to hold a piece of paper and not show their face and post fake pictures of someone else. Where if the face was mandatory it’s harder to be able to post fake pictures

I think the vast majority don’t post face pics at all, so I’m not sure how much it would help.

I think it should be mandatory for all profiles to have a picture, and all members should be photo verified. Both would save on a lot of time wasters

When doing a photo verification on fab you face and hands have to be seen. Mainly face though. To prove its you.

So you can have a fake body but not a fake face?

Surely its that persons body or face what gives?

We also ask for a video chat now before discussing stuff. If it’s a couple we want both there. Our own system has seemed to out the time wasters

Your post sounds like you're stating that this is how photo verification on Fab currently works. That's not correct.

From https://www.fabswingers.com/photoverification

"1: Write "FabSwingers.com" and your username "The Rainy One" on a piece of paper.

2: Photograph yourself holding the paper with hands showing. Photo should show your face or full length nude."

This week alone, we've been approached by at least 10 profiles who after some digging appear fake. Either a couples profile that's just a guy, a guy or girl who can't verify who they are, or couples who can't produce a pic of them together. The site requirement should be at least a face pic of all on the account holding the fab 'sign' up. Asking all profiles to renew this every 6 months to show still together, change of appearance etc. How many genuine profiles would object?

We haven't seen each other since January, so we would object as what you suggest is impossible for us.

I think people over-rate the photo verification system.

It's not a guarantee the person is the gender their profile suggests.

It's not a guarantee they are genuine in any way shape or form.

It's not a guarantee they'll meet.

It's not a guarantee they'll find you attractive.

It's not a guarantee they'll turn up.

It's not a guarantee they'll fuck you.

We've met literally dozens of people who aren't photo verified.

However, we take our time, do our due diligence and build rapport and a measure of trust before suggesting meeting. So far it's never failed us in our 6 years on Fab.

I'd suggest many people are in too much of a rush and it appears then want the site to put right their mistakes.

This subject has been done to death over the years.

Use the search forums option and you'll find dozens of threads on the subject.

Thanks for the post. I hope it's clear from what I've written, this isn't an attack on profiles, it's an opinion on something we think would improve the FAB experience. And at no stage have I said that it would guarantee anything!

Everyone has their own pace for getting to know people. We find that the initial build is now harder because we feel the need to get proof that people are real before we build a rapport. We've spent months during this year building remote relationships with people only to find out they're fake, posting as a couple without their partners consent, or have stolen someone else's pics for their profile.

I don't think the verification system is a guarantee of being genuine, or of interaction. Like any membership criteria, it just makes abuse a little harder. Also, like any membership criteria, it doesn't suit everyone. The current situation makes some things harder, but shouldn't stop a show of engagement from new profiles. The outside restrictions have prompted a flood of new profiles, the vast majority of which can wink, post, message, and verify anyone they like. These short lived, often disingenuous profiles spread bad experiences and tarnish the genuine new profiles who are curious about or brave enough to look into the lifestyle.

We'd be open to anything that improves the experience, for everyone who really wants to engage in the lifestyle.

They can’t verify anyone they like though. They first have to be user verified themselves, which is harder to cheat than photo verification.

As long as a profile can get 1 veri from a verified profile, they can then verify anyone. The photo veri just shows that on the day they join, they match the profile type and are aware of fab. Like I said before, nothings a guarantee, but if new profiles HAD to take that one step, a lot less fakes would bother to join.

I just came into the forum to say something like this. I've just seen a new profile with 3 photos posted of a woman in her glad rags, face clearly visible, maybe on a night out. Anyone could have posted those pics as a prank or maybe revenge.

I like seeing a woman who is bold enough to show her face, but really it should only be allowed if she verifies the profile with a face pic.

I get, and report, at least 5-10 messages a day from fake profiles, a lot of which are at least verified by pic (quite a few with meet veris too). These are just the ones I’d potentially chat to so likely more than that msg. The pic verify on here is obv quite easy to pass for anyone determined to do so.

I image search ALL pics from anyone who messages and is possibly someone I’d want to chat to. If they show up on countless other sites then they’re almost certainly a fake and I’ll report/block.

If they pass that then I check their profile. If they don’t have visible verifications by meet (and they need to be from accounts which have others who have verified them by meet) then I will insist on a quick video from them saying Hi Rosa.

I hate asking for that but honestly this place has just so many fakes that it’s become non-negotiable for me now. If they aren’t prepared to do that then likely they’re fake or not someone who’d even turn up to a meet anyway.
