The lounge Samaritans are closed. Can you please look at a forum where people can chat about mental problems call it what you like. |

A section in the forums dedicated to Mental Health Support is an excellent idea, pretty much everyday there is a new thread in the lounge about mental health, either asking for advice, letting people know they aren't alone or offering support to those who struggle. |

That'd be a good idea.
A couple of things spring to mind:
1) If this were implemented, is it possible to 'Pin' a post with contact numbers for the Samaritans etc, something that will always sit at the top of the forum?
2) The forum should be about the individual, not a platform for political topics or conspiracy theories - could there be a rule about appropriate content?

This is an excellent idea as more people seem to be experiencing mental health issues at the moment.
There's a good community on here with plenty willing to offer advice and support to those struggling and having a dedicated forum might encourage more to reach out. |

This is a good idea. I work in a voluntary mental health team in my area and act as a 'befriender' for those who need support. Anyone who wants to do this should google MIND.
Anxiety, frustration and loneliness are big worries at the moment and with job losses, financial struggles and the closeted confines of lockdown, many people are falling into despair. You can't even meet for casual sex anymore LOL.
And yet, most people just need someone talk to. Someone who is willing to listen without judgement. Not to 'fix' them but simply to understand.
A forum which is strictly for open and honest discussion would be welcome. |

Totally agree a lot of people's coping mechanisms have been lost during lockdown (sex & intimacy, gym, professional support etc). I think a lot of people would appreciate a non-judgmental place to talk and feel supported |
