I enjoy contributing on the forums but I wish that I could turn off people's ability to reply privately. If I've started or commented on a thread in the forum so it's normally because I wanted to add to that thread, not because I wanted to people to hit my inbox with their private replies or try to start a conversation privately with me.
I would like the ability to choose if people could reply privately or not, that way It would keep people engaged in the topic and help keep random replies away from my inbox.
I do understand that people do want to receive private replies sometimes, that's why I would like to be able to adjust account settings individually. |

It is true, they might, but at least they would be aware that you were not encouraging private replies.
Some people seem to think that if you posted in the forum you are welcoming people to contact you privately with their comments on your post. |
