Think you have line 2 min before it goes live. To delete it. If not then I think it's forever and ever..

Can't change a thread once it's posted.

No, there isn't. As above you have a brief period in which you can delete

I believe it's to stop someone saying something offensive and then editing after it's been read to avoid a telling off.
