Hosting our very own Bi/Pan/Tran event at The Attic in Derby, and not on a school night! Friday 14th June from 8pm onwards. For everyone who falls within that category and aren't afraid to own it. So if you're a Bi couple, guy, woman, trans then this is for you.
We are going to have our own section of the club, as it's running alongside the regular night. But entry to it will be via guest list, and we are operating a wristband system to distinguish our guests from regular club goers. Entry fee will be normal club rates, you can bring your own booze, but soft drinks can be purchased from the bar.
The tunes will be on a slightly different level for the evening as we are going for a hedonistic atmosphere, and were going to have the blacklights and UV paints out on the dance floor.
If this seems like the sort of event you'd like to attend then add a reply to this post. Everyone needs to be openly Bisexual or Bi-curious, that means both halves of a couple also. And everyone needs to have at least one Bi verification displayed. Yep, we know thats a bit draconian, but we want everyone on the same page.
Feel free to bring your own toys/weapons of destruction if thats your bag, and don't poke the Mistress we have on door duty. She has a vicious bite  |

Thanks for your reply. I was asking because I'm a regular at the attic but your event isn't for me so I wanted to know how much of the club would be accessible to regular club goers. Now I know that most of the club will be off limits I will choose to stay away that night and visit a different night.

In our discussions with the owners about it we understand that they don't want to give up the whole club to this for the night, as they still want their regular Friday night crowd. But this particular Friday is usually quiet for them, hence we have it as a trial night and a separate area. There are still lots of rooms available for regular goers though. |

Not everyone goes into detail on their verifications, I certainly don't as what happens behind closed door stays behind closed doors.

Well we saw her, Ron and David on Saturday night and they seemed happy enough then. We explained when we discussed it initially how we were going to run the guest list.
We appreciate that you've obviously got some desire to sabotage this now, but we're baffled as to why? We're trying not to take it personally but it's seeming that way. |

Well if you spoke to Debbie on Saturday night, then she must have indicated that we were there and you could have spoken to us personally. Or, you could have mailed us privately on here with your concerns and we could have had a discussion. But no, you've decided to try and make us look bad on a public forum, and probably mentioned it to anyone you know not to come because of how we are running it. Effectively making the difficult job of getting people to turn out to a new event even harder. So sabotage.
It's being done in a fair way. We're not turning people down on looks, race, body size. It's simple, everyone is going to be BI with verifications that indicate they are what they say they are.
Not just guys, everyone.
Even single women. We've actually NOT sent out invites to single women who state they are Bi when all their verifications are from single guys.
We're trying to avoid what has happened at another Bi night in the area, where the last few times we've visited it has been taken over by Straight male/bi female couples and straight single guys.
We've been given what is traditionally a quiet night at the club to run this trial event, in the hope we can get some people to come that wouldn't ordinarily visit. So it will impact regular goers minimally.
Now if you'd like to come along then we'd be happy to have you there so you can see what we're trying to create. If you don't want to because of how we are running it, then that's fine also. But can we leave it there please.

I have to say that this couple contacted me and were very polite .. while not my thing I did wish them luck with it. Also can't see debs talking so unprofessional about stuff. Normally keeps her cards close to her chest.
While not my thing as I'm not into guys with guys and I realise this will be much more openly happening at an event like this.. I have passed the details on to people I feel will benefit it x

All my verifications are from single men with the exception of one social veri from another single lady from the forums and 2 social veris from couples after chatting at the attic. If you are vetting everyone to ensure the are actually bi then you perhaps need to be a bit more thorough.
I'm not coming to the event because I'm not "properly" bi, I don't seek to play with ladies but will go with the flow if it feels right in a group situation - probably best described as hetero-flexible rather than bi.
I really do want your event to be a roaring success. It's great to have new stuff happening even if it isn't my cup of tea but arguing about it on the forums isn't going to encourage people to attend. |

Also agree about bi nights turning sour with the wrong mix of guests. As pansexuals we are unfortunately a minority that needs to make the absolute most of every event that caters for us as they are still relatively few and far between xxx |

Yes DanniandRic you are so right, have to say it still amazes me how many people do not understand what Pansexuality is. Getting tired of the "is it sex in kitchens" or "is it sex with saucepans" jokes. I was at a totally bi house party last weekend and found myself once again having to explain my sexuality. Events like Pandomonia in May and Pantazia in June are so so important to help us get our message out and be seen |

I wonder why we people with no people skills often run swingers events and even clubs.
Reading back on this thread is a prime example of this.
Take a few minutes the read back this thread and with just basic "people skills" this whole hostile thread could have been avoided.
Imagine how many people clicked on this thread, interested in attending (as I did) and then saw the hostile environment created by the so called hosts of the event and just moved on, as I am doing now.

I'm a little confused, with the attic being open to the general public too this evening, coupled with your very strict entrance criteria, how will this work?
If a member of your party wishes to invite a normal club attendee to play will that be allowed by you? Or will they need to load up their fab profile for you to judge if they are bi enough for you.
What parts of the club are sectioned off for your event? Also how has this been done? Are their privacy screens up? How will it be policed to ensure only people attending your party will have access to those areas?
Will normal attendees on a Friday night be paying a subsidised rate as they will have reduced facilities?

This is a trial event to see how things work, run in conjunction with and with the support of the club owners. If things don't work, well we can try to change them for the next one, or it simply won't happen again and we are fine with that. But we are grateful for everyone who has said they are coming, and not manufacturing problems for us for helping it to work.

I don't understand why you won't say how the club will be divided? What parts will remain open to the normal friday night crowd.
You have said you will be playing your music, so you must have the dance floor/seating area. How will this area be divided off, will it be a physical barrier?
What other areas have been set aside?

I don't think it's fair to invite people to a Bi only event, have such strict criteria to attend that because Bi people are being turned away because they don't have graphic verifications proving they are bi on their fab profile.
Then they turn up at your event, the place is half full of the usual Friday night straight crowd, probably frustrated as to why parts if the club are not available to them even though they have paid full price.
Then you expect your party to all sit in full view of everyone, doesn't sound like you have privacy screens. Then depending how many of you turn up the owner will assign you some play rooms.
The crowd the attic attracts is not the most liberal from my experience.

Not to me but to the people travelling from across the country to attend your event.
I have genuine concerns for security of your guests, when I attended the attic previously it allows in large groups of people unchecked, no ID checks taken from anyone - unlike other clubs. At the one and only night I have attended there was a group of about 7 middle age men d*unk sat right in the middle of the club, between the maze and the upstairs bar - talking at everyone who passed. I certainly wouldn't be comfortable sat at a Bi event in the corner.
I know you think I'm trying to "make trouble" as you put it but my concerns are genuine, and I gave you opportunity to address them, an opportunity everyone can see you were unable or unwilling to take.

As someone that has run events before. I think the organisers of this one are working well to try new event at the Attic.
Yes there may be teething issues but they have been very open and honest about this being the first one and as such feel that we need to support and be honest with how the event pans out.
Also we are regular attendees to the attic and there are plenty of staff/security at the venue and anyone that is causing any issues are removed. They also do limit the amount of single men they let into their events so it's not full of them
In the long run maybe raising questions you want answering via private message is a better starting point. Specially as you have very limited experience of the attic itself only being there once. |

They would have walked through the door and each paid £25. Because it was attracting new people, some of those people may well have come back multiple times or even become a regular, meaning creating more revenue for the club many times over.
Surely that's the idea if these events.
If someone's profile states they are Bi, but they chose not to publish verifications where bi/gay activities are outlined they are being turned away, that doesn't make sense.
We live in a world where a man can identify himself as a woman, but to get into a Bi event at the attic you need proof, and only from one website (fab).

So you didn't say the following about the dance floor?
"There will be a separation at the entrance to the dancefloor, with one of us on wristband duty there. However, depending on numbers confirmed we have another couple of options we've discussed to give us our own area away from other patrons."
And
"The tunes will be on a slightly different level for the evening as we are going for a hedonistic atmosphere, and were going to have the blacklights and UV paints out on the dance floor."

How do you ask the girls to verify that they are in fact "greedy girls". Do they have to load up verifications on fab, or do you just take their word for it? Why should this event be different?

Every event is different. We have been to bi events where the whole club is closed for the event only.
Some have different areas close off
Also there is a big difference in regards to greedy girls xx it is only going to attract girls that are into them events or curious about them

Really looking forward to the event tonight, however the club is divided, set up and whatever music is playing on the dance floor. It's a great club, with loads of rooms and space so everyone can enjoy themselves.
