It's the final countdown for The Vanilla Alternative's annual Festival of Fun (August 5th and 6th). Only 5 days to go and final preparations are being made for the highlight of the club's calendar. Pre-sold tickets are greater than in previous years but it's still not too late to either buy tickets in advance (by telephoning the club) or by paying on arrival. Tickets are available for the whole weekend (noon on Friday until you leave on Sunday) or single days (Friday - noon until you leave - latest noon on Saturday) and (Saturday - noon until you leave on Sunday).
Further details are on the Festival page of the club's website. |

An important message from the club for those attending the Festival of Fun:
Camping...
You can arrive anytime from noon on Friday to set up your camping spot. You will be directed to your space by one of the team. Due to the amount of people camping this year, you will have one hour to unpack your car and then you will be asked to move it to the parking area, so we can get as many people onto the main field as possible.
One camping pitch is allocated per booking Please don't bring an extra "play tent" etc. with you. The more we get onto the main field, the more fun it will be.
If you are only camping Friday night you will need to clear your pitch by noon on Saturday.
We ask all campers to take their rubbish away with them at the end of their visit, please do NOT dump stuff or throw it in the river or the fire.
Day visitors, are welcome from 2pm Friday and from noon Saturday.
Opening times for the club....
Weather permitting the club will open as usual at 8pm on both nights, however if we do get a shower that means it, we will obviously open the club early. Let's all do the sunshine prayer this week.
Please be aware that we do NOT provide towels in lockers for FOF, due to the amount that get taken home....please remember to bring towels with you for the weekend.
Lockers are on a first come first served basis and a £20 deposit is required, which is refunded when the key is returned. Anyone wishing to have a bar tab will need to leave a credit or debit card with us and your tab and wristband must be worn at all times and shown when ordering drinks from the club bar.
Food cannot be added to your tab as it is provided by an independent caterer, not the club.
Everyone will be required to show ID and be registered with the club to get in, and if you have pre paid your entry you will need to bring your entry code with you. Entry codes are being sent out right now.
Tickets can also be purchased on the door.
For everyone's privacy we will require each attendee to sign a code of conduct form on arrival at the main reception when checking in, this will include rules about photography.
Once all is said and done, we are looking forward to a great weekend with you all and seeing old and new friends. |

As we approach the final few days before the Festival of Fun I thought a little advice for car drivers may be useful if travelling to the club for the first time. The Vanilla Alternative (postcode for sat navs SG19 2AS) is situated right next to the northbound carriageway of the Great North Road (A1).
I guess many of you will be approaching it from a northerly direction, so head for The Black Cat Roundabout (junction with the A421). Continue along the A1 in a southerly direction and quite soon take the first little slip road, signposted to Tempsford and other places. Turn right at the 'T' junction and as you pass the metal footbridge over the A1 you will be able to see the roof line of the club on the other side of the A1. Keep going until you come to a mini roundabout. Turn right onto the bridge over the A1. Turn left at the next mini roundabout, left at the 'T' junction and left again onto the northbound carriageway of the A1. The club is about one mile on the left.
(If anyone misses the slip road mentioned above, just carry on south along the A1 for a couple of miles and go right round the next main roundabout). |

I would say the tie for Festival is a bit over the top. It's summer, it's Festival, it's time to have fun both in the main club building and outside in the massive inflatable marquee. It's going to be another great VA weekend. |

Thought it might look a little strange crawling out of a tent in a shirt and tie but have only been to va once (a few years back) and seem to remember quite a strict dress code for guys so thought we'd check. Will go smart/casual then. Assuming smart jeans are ok ?

TOWELS - Like last year, visitors to the Festival of Fun need to bring their own towels. On most party nights at VA's the club supplies nice white towels as part of the entrance fee but with so many people visiting over the weekend, it would just be impossible to wash and dry so many towels, especially with everything else going on. Some will be available for sale for anyone that forgets but generally, visitors need to bring their own. The club's towels are white, so it would make sense for guests bringing their own to choose another colour that is easily recognised. |

It's finally here. Day 1 of the 2016 Festival of Fun at The Vanilla Alternative. Campers can book in from noon and day visitors are welcome from 2pm. The weather forecast is good and the club is ready for another amazing couple of days with a wonderful group of swingers from all over the UK. Tickets are still available on the door for anyone making a last minute decision to attend, either for the full weekend or just today or tomorrow. Just remember to register online via the VA website and bring ID with you. It's going to be an epic event. Have fun. We very much look forward to meeting up with old friends and the large number visiting The Vanilla Alternative for the first time. |
