Quick question!

Will attendees need to bring passports/driving licences etc to the event as ID? Xx

No, ideally bring your ticket printed out, if not quote name and email address used and it will cross reference with guest list

If you adopt that policy then it seems only fair to allow refunds if people genuinely can't make it (say up to 10 days before the event).

It's a lot of money to pay and to offer no refunds plus a non transferable ticket does not seem fair or professional especially as there is also a waiting list for cancellations.

People who buy tickets know that they aren't transferable or refundable if they read the T&C's so they know the risk of things happening in real life to prevent then from coming, last year there was around 20 ppl who didn't turn up without letting us know and of those only one asked about getting refunded.

Tickets are normally either refundable or transferable (see Glastonbury). Like the way you deal with the issue with a "lol" and "don't buy a ticket". Thanks, very professional

I'm not actually dealing with the issue because it seems you are the only person making an issue out of it, I'm just replying to you. So I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. And like I said it's advisable to check the T&C's before purchasing a ticket.

And no 'lol' this time.

Regardless of what other businesses do or what has happened on previous years, there are Terms and Conditions to every ticket sale. It is the perogative of a business to select their T & C's to suit and THAT is why everybody should read T & C's before purchasing anything rather than clicking past and hitting 'Pay'!

If you read the Terms and are not happy with the potential risk as your attendance may be in doubt, then it would be best to wait until nearer the time hen you do know if you can go and hope there are reserve tickets.

You know what the terms are in advance, you know the 'risk', you know what will happen if you book and can't go. You had a choice.

We don't offer refunds or transfers on our tickets either. We do however, allow people to pay on the door, but at this particular event, where numbers are an issue as are the actual people who walk in, then they can't have a 'pay on the door' policy.

I totally understand why tickets are not transferrable. There has to be a way of protecting guests via personal information given at booking. If the tickets are handed to a friend, then they could be anybody, free to do anything, with no risk to themselves. What if one of those transferred tickets were given to somebody from 'The Sun'? People were asked on booking if they worked in media...a stranger with a ticket given to them...who are they?

As for refunds, this sort of event costs!!! They need to cover their overheads and they only do this by selling tickets. If they offered refunds to everybody, then I can see people looking at the weather forecast and cancelling due to inclemant weather!

Policies, Terms & Conditions are in place to protect guests and protect the success and longevity of an event. They are upfront about the T & C's and you therefore know what you are getting yourself into. It's standard stuff

Hope you don't mind me jumping in there Swingfields?

Well despite the comments and being called a "hater" it doesn't seem an unreasonable request to ask for a refund for an event that 1. has a reserve list with people ready to buy the ticket and 2. if you do want to control who attends then you would prefer to take that ticket out of circulation and give it to somebody else who can definitely attend? Yes I know the T and c's etc. it is a lot of money that I would prefer not to waste and as single guy tickets are very limited deny somebody else the chance of a great weekend.

I feel I want a break as not getting what I want from it anymore and the stupid "typical single guy" and "says it all" comments confirm it.

Yes I've hidden my profile sure I will be deleting this profile soon also.

We unpacked everything the first year put the tent up opened a drink and then Mrs smith asked me where her bag was with her clothes in and the SWINGFIELDS t-shirt we had made. Hmm in the living room at home so put beer down and did the 300 mile round trip to get it before the daughters raided it for clothes ha. Treble checking everything this year lol

NEWSFLASH - Swingfields just raised the bar - AGAIN !

We know this is late but its a deal we have been negotiating and its just come to fruition, and we prefer to INNOVATE, not imitate.....

We have secured double and twin luxury "Festival hotel pods" for this years event !! They are at an amazing price of £195.00 for 3 days, and are insulated, with a choice of double or single beds (x2) and will come fully furnished with lighting and sockets for charging your phone etc..

Next year they will be further boosted as part of our plans for our "4 star arena", but for this year this is a first come first served offer, ready to simply arrive, and move into.

Ticket holders will be mailed today and tomorrow with booking details.

I may be making eyes at people with a compressor to aid with the inflation of my airbed

Or making nice to men with firm thighs and perky buns in the hopes that I can watch them using the foot pump...

Morning North West ladies!

Fab Queen and I are going to Preston on Saturday to shop for clothes/bikinis etc for Swingfields! Lunch first then shopping! If any ladies fancy joining us for a bit of pre-Swingfields shopping/socialising then please pm me!

It'll be great to meet others who are going before the event!

It's years since I last used a tent and never been to any kind of festival that involved an overnight stay! Looking forward to this with excitement and trepidation in equal measure. Tent on order, airbed and camping stove bought other bits and bobs in hand. Any recommendations would be welcome.

Try the flag shop. They post first class and have a wide variety of flags. They also do plain flags and you can go to your local craft store and get some fabric paints and personalise it.

Or try a good printers/photocopy place as they often have the capability to photo copy onto fabric.
