Hottie and Luke's birthday social 28th June @ The VA ( part 3 )

Fellow forumites,

On the 28th of June myself and the lovely Lucy (sex_on the beach) will be hosting a joint birthday party for mine and Luke's birthdays and thought we might as well make a big social out of it! (It's his 40th as well so a special one!!)

The venue is the vanilla alternative and the theme is masquerade ball! Classy eh?? So a good opportunity for the lads to be suited and booted and the ladies to get the bling out! Think black tie for the men and red carpet glamour for the ladies. dressing up is optional though and if you don't fancy it then normal club wear is acceptable, check the clubs website for their dress code.

Now the VA is normally couples only on a Saturday but they have kindly relaxed their rules for us! But single guys will only get in if they are on the list. No exceptions!!

There is a licensed bar so no need to cart about booze and there will be a buffet too in case you need to refuel

The VA have a hotel on site so some rooms are available for £50 per night, if not there are travel lodge, premier inn all fairly nearby where you can get a room for the night, again details on the clubs website or ask myself or Lucy for details. .

The list will close one week before on the 21st then confirmation message will be sent to all those on it, only those that reply confirming attendance will be on the list!!!

Prices as follows:

Couples £35

Single guys £30

Single ladies £10

No membership needed

Just to clear up a few things,

The social is being held in a club, so there will be playing going on, that doesn't mean to say that you have to play though,

No membership is required, but ID will need to be produced on the night,

There are rooms available in the club itself, or there is a travel lodge and a premier inn close by,

The theme for the evening is masquerade, so eye masks, black tie for the gents and gowns for the ladies, but you don't have to follow the theme, you could just wear club attire!

There is a large jacuzzi at the club so bring your swimming costumes if you want!

And the nearest train station is called sandy

First Masquerade ball for me so I've got a question.

Is the mask the decider of the outfit or does it not matter?

What I mean is...I have a very nice mask that is very specific so...should the rest of my outfit be themed around it? or does it not matter.

You could go the route of getting a whole outfit that brings together the mask, the dress and the shoes - think courtly masked balls.

Or, you colour match your mask to your dress (accent colours etc.).

Or, you shove two things together and see what happens.

I will be wearing my current mask, probably, and a long green dress, probably, or a long black dress. I will be fighting the urge to buy new masks, dresses and shoes as I have these from previous formal events. I also have a heavily beaded emerald green dress that isn't floor length but is stunning. Anyone stuck for an outfit let me know as I am happy to offer up some of my dresses for the night.

EVERYONE PLEASE READ.....

There has been a slight problem, when Lucy rang the club a couple of months back to arrange a date for the social we were going to have it on a Friday night as the VA is couples only on a Saturday, bit she was told that as long as the single guys were on the guest list then it wouldn't be a problem.

Now this evening she has been told that single guys are limited, not so bad but the original figure was 10! We have managed to get it to 15 and I'm pushing for 20.

As of now there are 15 single males on the list so that means the list is closed to single guys until we get a reply back from the club as we don't want anyone booking a hotel etc to be let down.

We are really sorry and hope those of you with your names down will still be joining us and that we can get a few more single guys on the list. We wanted this to be open to anyone but looks like that's not going to be possible, we would change the venue but as we already have some with hotel booked we cannot.

So we will keep you all posted xxx

Just thought that I know from other social threads that people get chatting via pm etc and decide to attend together/share rooms etc so couple up, so don't forget to let me know so I can change you to a couple on the guest list if that's the case.

Some could but I was told by people who attend fairly regularly that people coupling up just to get through the door will not be tolerated by the club. But obviously If people have arranged to room share/play etc in the club then that would be ok x

See there's quite a few going that are on my route down from Lincoln (a1ish) is there any that are after a lift, good to have a little company and chat on the way
