Ex anorexic's fear of clubs
Jump to: Newest in thread
Being an ex anorexic, I'm worried that the club scene maybe dominated by the skinniest, gym fittest and body beautiful types and I'll end up have a relapse and bring on a bought of backwards actions.
I'm now a cuddly strong build and like who I am. How do I get over this? What did you guys and gals and others do ?
Cheers in advance |

There are people of all shapes and sizes in the clubs, OP, more actually towards bigger size. And they are all accepted (apart from very elitist clubs that don't accept anyone above size 12), enjoying themselves. |

I'm no light weight. I am far from what society calls physically perfect.
I've been going to clubs since last August and it was an eye opener for me.
Usually I am the fattest girl in the room and feel i most definitely do not belong... i was so pleasantly surprised that what I thought was not the case. The ladies were all normal... all perfect... all different sizes... |

I'm good with myself now but I'm concerned I won't be if I make this first step the wrong way."
Have you been to any orgnised socials? That could be a good first step and give you a good idea of the type of people that attend clubs. |

First of all, be whatever body size you like, as long as you eat healthily. Eating + vomiting or starvation portions = not good. Secondly, in most clubs or swingers’ resorts there are people of all sizes so, be comfortable in your own skin and be healthy! I hope this helps X |

I'm also recovering from an eating disorder and it can be difficult to stop those old thoughts creeping in when I see thin girls. In the club.
But you really do get all shapes and sizes, there are always people taller, shorter, fatter, thinner etc than you but no matter what just keep telling yourself that your thoughts aren't facts. And rem_mber that you're worth so much more than making yourself smaller.
Wishing you all the best |

Also agree 100%
I was so sure that everyone would stare, point, and giggle at me, undressed. The opposite was true. People looked. And either appreciated or not--I found it didn't matter.
All types go to clubs.
You probably judge yourself FAR more harshly than anyone around you (I know I did). Seeing all body types at clubs is refreshing. |

I'm a big girl and only 1 guy ever complained about my size and that was an ex, everyone else is quite happy to bounce on this trampoline go and get your kit off and be devoured by everyone but on serious note if its worrying you then avoid clubs or have someone with you, either way have fun! |

I'm making my first appearance at a clube this month. I'm curvy and I like it. Not everyone does and that doesnt bother me. Everyone has a type they are attracted to. If I'm not it, then that's fine with me. |

I am a very full-sized person after every visit from my mother feeding my partner and me Mediterranean food. The only reason I look ‘average’ is because I suck my belly in for photos. I’m sure you’ll get plenty of erotic fun in the clubs that you’ll visit mate. And keep well! X |

Going to clubs helped me loads with my body image and confidence. I loved seeing people of all sizes and body types being happy in their own skin. After three kids and some health issues my body is not what it used to be in my 20s, but I am actually happier with it now than I was back then. Honestly, it was the best thing I ever did, go and enjoy yourself, you will love it! xx |

"The thing is - I really love big bellies and bums so I'm hoping the club is brimming with them
Look for BBW events then.
I did, seems like these are the ones that attract the fittest guys."
Try the Curvy Girls night at Club f. Any club night is pot luck with who actually turns up on the night |

"No advice on clubs OP. But well done to you on being happy and healthy now. The human body is an amazing thing. "
Thank you.
And thanks for all the continued support, it's certainly outweighing the bitchy emails I'm getting from people to afraid to speak their minds in the forum. Pity I can't name and shame.
Maybe my views are somewhat bias as whenever I check out people who go to clubs their verifications and pictures can be rather intimidating - lots of gym fit guys or the mega well endowed types. But life's wgat you make it so maybe club f is going to get a visit as I have a female friend who goes to hold my hand lol. |

People use camera angles and pick the best pics. It’s amazing how a camera angle can make a cock look bigger. We’ve seen loads of cocks in clubs, very few big ones. Camera angles can also make people look slimmer or more curvy, depends how you do it |

I'll second the ClubF Curvy Girls recommendation. It's a fantastic night, and a person's size and shape has nothing to do with how much they enjoy it. I can guarantee the presence of at least one larger man - I think I've only missed one since I started going to the club.
If you're outgoing and friendly, you'll have no problem. If you're shy like me, but prepared to push yourself out of your corner for a few hours, you'll also be fine. Make the most of the social time at the start of the night. It's a friendly club, and most people are happy to talk. |

If there's one thing that was quickly obvious from visiting clubs, it was that the people who have the most fun are the ones who chat and have a laugh. The folk who think that their body or looks are all that matter can really struggle. Personality is everything.

Same thing every time - guy with a great profile - totally straight lol. But I bet you're worth a view in action. I NEED to do this don't I?

Plus size lady here who experienced her first visit last week, it's an empowering and liberating environment.
I was definitely the curviest woman there. Encouraged by the amazing people around me I was naked and in the hot tub pretty rapidly.
No one batted an eyelid, and plenty of people spoke to me.
We can't all be for everyone physically , but everyone likes decent company.
Good luck. |

"Q what's the dress code for the night?"
There's a fairly wide range. You can't go far wrong with "decent going out clothes". I wear trousers, shirt, and shoes. Women wear all sorts of things. Some more revealing, some more conservative. Later in the night dress down is required if you want to go upstairs - that's usually boxers or towel for men, lingerie or sometimes towel for women. Or a robe if you want to cover up a bit more. And most go naked in the hot tub.
For your first visit it's not really something to worry about. Once you're there you can see what everyone else does, and decide what you're comfortable with next time.
One of the delights of clubs is the wide variety of people you get there. You won't look out of place if you don't fit the standard look, because there is no standard. |

The amount of envy I'm feeling now is as large as my admiration of your pictures. Those lucky sods at that club. I'm so green right now x |

My confidence is fine when it cones to being around groups of people in that situation. It's my self body image that can be effected, which can cause my anorexia to return.
It's a constant battle every day. |
