Hi we have attended and absolutely love Jaydees however we notice that V&A is also nearby are there many differences between the two clubs and which do people prefer and why. |

VA every time. My view it attracts a sexier crowd. The facilities are laid out much better at VA, ie no stairs to break your neck on or trip hazards in the play area. Generally more comfortable and upmarket surroundings. Some people don’t like the fact there are no lockable or private rooms at VA, I think that makes for a sexier atmosphere, after all it’s a swingers club ! Why hide... ? I’ve found people are always respectful and ask before joining in. |

To be fair I've not been to Jaydees in a few years, but unless they have changed the stairs they were pretty steep and rickety and not exactly designed for ladies in heels to negotiate easily, so can understand the previous posters comment from that perspective.
As for the OP - they are two very different clubs in terms of layout, facilities and overall vibe - Jaydees the emphasis seems to be on "fun" in quite a tongue in cheek, almost Carry On way (and I am not saying that as a criticism or to be disrespectful) whereas VA goes for a more classy and relaxed vibe.
Personally I prefer VA, but know lots of people that love Jaydees and have a great time there, and think both have their place and their positives and negatives. |

I tried the VA a, few years ago. I attended with my wife and some friends. The sum total of the conversation we had with other patrons was when someone thanked me for holding the toilet door open.
Jaydees is far more friendly and has a substantial kink area if that is something you value. |

We use both clubs a fair bit but we agree. VA is decorated fantastic and is a great club. But the people at Jaydees are just so much friendlier. We have struggled to get people to talk at VA but at Jaydees everyone chats. |

We have been to both clubs, but choose Jaydees every time, people are loads more friendly. As for sexy, well it’s the same just depends on the night but that is the same in every club you go to. And for the rooms, at Jaydees you can perform to the crowd or go in a private room and that you don't get at VA. So the winner for us is Jaydees every night K & T xx |

We never quite made Jaydee’s, but a lot of people messaged us and said hi when we had a plan to.
One thing we like at VA is there is no restriction on what you can do in the hot tub. Apparently they have very good filtration! |

Jaydees every time, you don’t get the stuck up clientele like you do at VA, plus people actually talk to you at Jaydees!

We’ve done both and never had a bad night at Jaydees. We did have a bad night once at VA with a group of men hunting like wolves, following women to the toilets, just leaning in and touching when we were playing. Really put us off of returning. |

Been to VA and jaydees several times. I love jaydees friendliness and general laid back vibe so a great night out even without any play. Has great rooms for play, awful stairs but I have negotiated them in 7inch heels most nights and not killed myself yet!! Yes VA has a classy environment, it makes for a different atmosphere though. More pressure to dress down and play. Definitely not as social as jaydees.
You have to experience them both to decide which you prefer I think. We prefer jaydees but we like both clubs.

Never been to VA and not really planning to, as I do like to have a choice whether I play 'to the crowd' or have an intimate play in a private room. It's not about hiding, just that not every single swinger is an exhibitionist and likes being watched. Also, in open play area, there are more chances of coming across some 'intelligent differently' people who think touching without being invited to is ok. So you do need to be more guarded, whereas in a private room you can just relax and let go, enjoy yourself.
I like the fact that you can bring your own alcohol to Jaydees, which you can't do at VA. Meaning the tab at the end of the night can be significant.
Last but not least, VA has the vibe of being for 'pretty people', whereas Jaydees is just normal people. Though it would be good if, at times, Jaydees was stricter on their dress code, especially at big events. For example, at NYE party, even though it was advertised as black tie/very smart dress event, there was, for example, a guy in combat trousers allowed in! No clue how combat trousers can be seen as very smart. |

Jaydees does have good points regarding the rooms, lounge, kitchen and THAT hot tub. Yes the people are nice. Small grassy area outside. I got complimented on my Halloween outfit, which was nice.
Bad points, no alcohol sold on site: bring your own booze. the changing rooms are tiny, my partner has a few mobility issues: would love to see bigger rooms with seating to get changed in. No sound in the cinema.
I do Like Chams's changing rooms which has mirrors and hair driers.
As for VA/The Anchor Hotel, never been. But it is so easy to find on the A1, just south of the Black cat roundabout.
Be careful upstairs with the roof beams and steps from room to room, especially when wearing heels or a bit wobbly on your feet. Considering it is a converted barn: this is part of its quirk and character.

It’s funny clubs are personal and I think a lot of the time it’s what you make of it
I know personally that VA has changed considerably in recent months with new staff, new parties etc.
The recent reviews will verify this to a point.
All I would say is make you’re own mind up by trying both 
And I will add I make a wicked pornstar martini and myself and all my staff are incredibly welcoming

We have the same experiences but it’s only 15 mins drive for us. But we agree special events will encourage us to VA but any night at all is great at Jaydees. It’s the people that make a night out, and we find them nicer at Jaydees. Never seen any bitchiness there, last time at VA I heard a lady tell another ‘you aren’t pretty enough to play with us’. |

VA is one of my favorite clubs.
Speaking with my bicurious single male hat on no club has matched it to date.
I've not given Jaydee's a try yet but I will look into it to see if they host any events that appeal to me. |

The dynamics are very diffrent, one is nore personal and intimate and the other is very open and ideal for exhibitionism.

Would not step foot in VA again. Worse club we been to and we have attended alot of clubs. Hosts were rude and drinks over priced. Very clicky and not a nice atmosphere
I have heard its changed hands and if that's true then we might give it another go but would not go back if it's still same owners .
Jaydees is great there so friendly there and everyone is happy to see you and it's always a great night.

We've been to both too and much preferred Jaydees, in fact we've been back quite a few times. We may try the VA again but only with friends not on our own.
Jaydees is friendly, welcoming and great fun. Can't wait for the next visit.

We love going to VA on Wednesday during the day. We struggle with weekends as one or other of us is normally working. The day time milf club event is normally well attended and everyone who goes is there to play, the bar area is often pretty much empty except for staff!
The main play area,Jacuzzi and couples room are full of people having a fantastic time. |

We also love VA on a Wednesday. We've only been to VA once in the evening and it was dull and unfriendly in comparison to Wednesday day times, but we're not sure if it was an off night or not, seemed most people were drinking to get pissed rather than to be social and play. We'll give VA another go for an evening but if it's the same experience as the first time we won't try a third time.
We both want to try jaydees but evenings are difficult for us. |

Had a lovely night at Jaydees last night. Even quiet nights are superbly friendly. Loved chatting to all folks we chatted to and the staff are great. We really can’t rate the place highly enough and we agree the private rooms are amazing. |

We stayed only to finish one drink in Jaydees
It felt grubby, carpet in changing area dirty, stains on chairs and one younger chap in scruffy jeans, trainers and a hoody strolling about with two young girl’s openly pointing and laughing at people.
The upstairs is awkward to navigate and we just didn’t feel comfortable
We’ve had good nights an not so good nights at VA but at least it felt clean.
VA can be clicky and we’ve had night’s when we haven’t spoken to anyone but we are mostly looking just to have a bit of naughtiness together so that hasn’t bothered us.

We regularly attend VA's daytime event, and love it! People are friendly and welcoming and there is always lots of playing.
Unfortunately in experience of going to 3 evening events it was the total opposite and we won'tbe wasting our money again.
We haven't tried Jaydees yet as we find evening difficult and they don't do a daytime events. |

Don’t particularly want to get into an argument but the carpet in changing area was stained and appeared dirty, why not put tiles down?
Chairs around the dance floor were stained, might have just been drink but who knows. Again why not have something cleanable?
This is our impression of the two clubs, VA we would visit again. Jaydees we wouldn’t.

We used to love VA as was there most weeks. But last time we went the single guys were out of control and the ratio was right out. It made the whole experience horrible. Shame really as we did love the place. We then returned to Jaydees after it reopened. There the guys are kept in a good ratio, never seen anyone overstep the mark. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. You feel like it’s a place for swingers and run by swingers, not something designed to just get the money out of your pocket. |

Love jaydees and it is my all time favourite friendly club .... I have been to VA in Milf week but I had accident from Hot Tub and no one helped me so I never go there VA again

We’ve been to both clubs. VA was by far the better club, for us, because apart from being very plush and comfortable, they do a couples only night with no single men.
Jaydees, we would never visit again. Even on their ‘couples’ night, they say they allow five vetted and known gentlemen into the club. When we went, there were between 10 and 15 of them. One of them, a dirty, scruffy looking older man, was being given the tour, so he clearly wasn’t known to the club. We also found it grubby.
The people were friendly, but the single men were creepy.

No it hasn’t changed hands, club is still owned by the lovely Jules and Kim manages the place wonderfully and has done since last August. There was a different manager in for a very brief period around the FoF period, but that ended just after the festival finished.
VA have the most amazing team now and work tirelessly to maintain the standard and credit it fully deserves |

Exactly, the staff in Jaydees were lovely, showed us round and had no problems but it didn’t suit us.
The staff and atmosphere in VA has always been great on the evenings we’ve been.
Fridays, spicys bi night  not our thing but was a really good night, should have checked before we went but we had a really good night once we got our heads around it.
Saturday party night has been good but we’ve also had negatives, we went to FOF a couple of years ago and in the day time piles of pallets as seating and and a general lack of effort, after all the money we had paid in tickets and hotels wasn’t impressive.
So give them both a go, I don’t drink when we are out out so going elsewhere hasn’t been a problem |

There is no membership subscription at The Vanilla Alternative. Guests just need to register, for free, via the club's website. You then pay the entrance fee each time you visit. |

We have only been to VA so can’t really compare however we love VA and are hooked. There’s no pressure to play! It’s always a mixed bag of people everyone chats and are friendly. We always have a great time there love the glory hole and the bar staff are brilliant x |

They are both great.
Kim and her team at the VA are truly the friendliest bunch and o so lush.
Both clubs are very different but both great and very inviting, I felt equally comfortable and welcome at both.

We really enjoy VA and have been quite a few times on Fridays, Saturdays and to MILF club, never had any issues and Kim and the staff have always been great...
Have often heard mixed things about Jaydees, not sure why, but off the back of this thread will give it a go in the coming months and see for ourselves. |

HI just thought we would add to the forum, we have read all the comments and taken them on board. Our seating in the disco has now been up upholstered in leatherette and look fabulous. We didn't realise that people classed our locker rooms as changing rooms so we will rectify that in the next few weeks by adding a changing area. Our membership is only £10 per couple or £10 per single which covers costs of keeping up with id's and paperwork etc. It also gets members in £5 cheaper than new people would pay, Our entrance price is £25 per couple for members so a bargain for a great night out and bring your own drink so you know how much you are spending. We are always updating the club and although we missed these things we certainly have lots more to enjoy including our 30 plus seat Jacuzzi which is now ultra violet light filtered and plenty of private spaces as well as lots of fun play areas which have been suggested by previous members over the years. We often get good comments about how we are always updating the club and spending money on it. |

We LOVE VA, such a classy, clean and friendly club with fantastic facilities and an awesome team of staff. Looking forward to the clubs birthday celebrations next Saturday (29th) and all the entertainment they have lined up. They are especially welcoming to new guests and it’s always a very, sexy crowd. |

Jaydees would always be my choice. Friendlier vibe, great range of play areas, lovely hot tub and I have always had a good night there.
VA is OK but limit single men on a Friday and dont let them in at all on Saturdays, and I found the guys to generally be in the over 50 category which isn't what I hunt for. VA just doesn't feel as friendly or social the times I have been, and I found the vibe at the daytime milf club awfully pushy.
Best advice is to have a night at both and see what floats your boat! |

We loved VA so much, we truly did. But the last Friday night we went, we just didn’t feel safe. That feeling has never been there at Jaydees. Until that point we was at the club most weeks. Since we haven’t felt comfortable enough to return. |

Will not return to VA. Very clicky hot tub was grotty with only a few jets working. They also allow playing in the hot tub which is which is a big no no for us. Host was very rude and bar very expensive. Was told that has changed hands and was going to give it another go but found out it's still owed by same person. The dress down rule which they enforce is wrong. If people feel comfy to get into the underwear then great but dont demand they have to dress down to go past that point.

We have met many couples who have been to both, but all say the same thing about lack of privacy, and the clique atmosphere. Also dont really like the idea of sitting in a hot tub with everyone's discharge floating past.
One couple described VA as " a better class of people", which killed it off for us.
Jaydees is constantly improving, and treats you as a guest rather than an income, which is also reflected by the prices involved.
Four miles apart, but around £100 a night cheaper, no brainer for us. |

It’s a shame to see that as usual, posts comparing clubs always end in a negative manner with some people using the opportunity to only give negative comments about the club they don’t usually go to... why not focus on the positives of the club you enjoy if you want to attract people there? Is it fair to comment if you haven’t been and rely on ‘hearsay’ or have only been once a long time ago?
We can’t comment on Jaydees as we have never been and for various reasons it doesn’t appeal to us but speaking positively about The Vanilla Alternative, we can say it’s scrupulously clean, hygienic, and well looked after. The Owner, Manageress and their staff work tirelessly to ensure the club maintains its high standards and have ‘their’ rules for their own reasons. Both clubs will appeal to different people and you have the choice of which to go to. There is no need to put down the club YOU don’t like. |

I don’t see why there has to be a JDs or VA choice why can’t people appreciate they have two great clubs on their doorstep and be thankful for it. We have none in Essex, they should appreciate both for the hard work and effort the owners and staff put it.
Everyone will have a favourite I’m sure, but seriously life is too short to be negative because you think you’re doing your fave club a favour by slatting another. Both clubs are well run, clean, friendly and welcoming....don’t be a sheeple follow your own path of discovery! |

Our opinion is a culmination born of fact and first hand experiences from others.
For our personal perspective, we travel a fair distance, and based on the facts previously stated, we wouldn't be inclined to play in a club where privacy is unobtainable, the hot tub is laden with other people's secretions, and the expense far greater than other clubs.
These are our personal preferences and opinions, which has never been negated by anybody who has attended VA.
We would apply the same logic to buying a car, going to a restaurant, or even buying items online.
It's a very small community on here, and when the majority speak, it's usually fair to say that there's a good element of fact and foundation behind it.
No doubt there are some very good reasons to go to either club, depending on your own personal compass, but as originally stated, our review was our own opinion based on research and preferences. |

"It’s a shame to see that as usual, posts comparing clubs always end in a negative manner with some people using the opportunity to only give negative comments about the club they don’t usually go to... why not focus on the positives of the club you enjoy if you want to attract people there? Is it fair to comment if you haven’t been and rely on ‘hearsay’ or have only been once a long time ago?
We can’t comment on Jaydees as we have never been and for various reasons it doesn’t appeal to us but speaking positively about The Vanilla Alternative, we can say it’s scrupulously clean, hygienic, and well looked after. The Owner, Manageress and their staff work tirelessly to ensure the club maintains its high standards and have ‘their’ rules for their own reasons. Both clubs will appeal to different people and you have the choice of which to go to. There is no need to put down the club YOU don’t like. "
Not really a fair representation by yourselves as you host evenings there. Can’t really rely on an unbiased opinion. Where the paying customers are saying personal experiences but apparently that isn’t right. |

We have given VA more than one visit and every one has been the same. It's not a vendetta or personal attack
Jaydees is bt far a more superior club on many levels. The owners actually want be part of the scenes instead of treating it as a get rich scheme. They dont care weather you were a jumper all night or walk round naked, they rightfully so will not let any play happen in the hot tub as this is disgusting do what you want in your own hot tub but dont let other people bathe in your bodily fluids. Jaydees is cheaper and bigger. Has more rooms , has private rooms and is just a better club
Change owners and revamp rules and pricing structure you will find alot of people will change their mind. I know pernsonaly for definitely a few people on here have held back quite a bit so cant all be just someone trying to big "their favourite club" up as someone pointed out.

My opinion is also based on fact, the carpet by lockers was dirty, the chairs around dance floor were stained, people who had taken no care in their appearance were walking about and acting in a way that was to the detriment of the atmosphere.
The layout upstairs was awkward to navigate.
To be fair to the owners they have posted that the floor by the lockers is going to be changed and the seats have been recovered, good to see they are actively trying to correct any problems.
The next bit is down to personal preference and we prefer a venue where the management do care if you are walking around the play areas in a pair of scruffy jeans and a hoody.
We don’t go out often and enjoy dressing well when we do, it’s an event make some effort.
we love open play but nothing kills the mood quicker than an audience of fully dressed gorpers
So the VA is good for some, Jaydees is good for others, what’s not to love about that. |

As mentioned previously the crap always hits the fan in the Jaydees or VA threads and regulars etc if either get all defensive.....
Personally these two clubs are our closest venues, we attend neither, far too toxic. |

"I don’t see why there has to be a JDs or VA choice why can’t people appreciate they have two great clubs on their doorstep and be thankful for it. We have none in Essex, they should appreciate both for the hard work and effort the owners and staff put it.
Everyone will have a favourite I’m sure, but seriously life is too short to be negative because you think you’re doing your fave club a favour by slatting another. Both clubs are well run, clean, friendly and welcoming....don’t be a sheeple follow your own path of discovery!"
Exactly this! VA was the first club we have attended and the only one we don’t feel the need to go anywhere else is always really fun, relaxed with a sexy crowd!
And agree we need a club in Essex! haha xx |

I can’t bring myself to go anywhere other than the VA! Can’t comment on Jaydees at all for that reason, not opposed to visiting there if an event caught my eye..
Just from my experience as a single girl - I’ve never felt so safe, or so welcomed before. I’m not hounded by single guys, people are always respectful and friendly and theres no pressure to play. The social here is just as important as the naughtiness which I love! The premises are immaculate - clean, classy and has everything you need.
I was a bit short on cash last year so worked the bar for a couple of months, the feedback received from customers was always excellent. The staff existing and new have honestly become friends. Love chatting to the team at the bar. £4 a drink.. that’s cheaper than my local so for me it’s a great cheap night out with likeminded people.
Looking forward to many more debaucherous nights at my favourite club  |
