At the beginning of the week I saw the post about Hellfire CC email and thought that’s bad. This morning I have had a similar experience with Eurekas mail out. I have over 100 emails now from various Eurekas customers saying stop emailing me and why have I got this. Someone’s done a blunder shakes head at yet more unwanted emails. |

"So have you had an email from Eureka with other people's e-mail addresses on it?
Looks to be a Yahoo group email which has people’s address CC’d. "
So is it a data breach of someone with a virus in their email software? |

Most likely to have Emailed everyone on the group. Mind you software virus check picks up nothing. Looks to be a host issue most likely where the group was set up. |

Morning all can we just clarify, this was a yahoo group set up by a customer some years ago and not by the club itself. It was managed by this customer until yahoo removed the manager from all of it's groups. We have several phonecalls over the weekend regarding this and Yahoo were contacted. The only advice they could give us was to advise people to unsubscribe from the group.
Everyone that joined the group originally did voluntarily, it wasn't from a database as we have never had a computer based database in the past and for the foreseeable future we will remain with our paper one.
Hope this clarifies the situation and if anyone is still receiving emails then please unsubscribe |

Yes, as eureka says. Look at the original email from the group, there’s an ‘unsubscribe’ link that you can click on. Sends you a confirmation email so look out for that. Doesn’t stop the CCs from emailing you though but better than nothing. |
