Hot tub etiquette

So at kestrels theres 4 hot tubs i think, anyone else find themselves in a dilemer if they should use the unoccupied hot tub first before getting into a occupied one? A bit like the unspoken rule on trains and buses when you only sit down next to someone if all other seats where no one is sitting either side are gone.

If your sociable ask if anyone minds you joining them in the occupied one. If your awkward or unsocial best go sit on your own. I’ve only seen one tub in use mid week daytime. The others are covered.

Not much of a dilemma really, it depends why you are using the Jacuzzi ie to relax or to interact with others.

If the occupants are having sex i would choose a different tub though.

There's a large difference between asking if anyone minds when getting into a jacuzzi and assuming that it is a request to grope or have sex.

We like to chat when in jacuzzis and it is embarrassing to see singles in another one alone and looking at the ceiling....but equally, it isn't an invite for anything else.

I'm always happy to instigate a session of "hot tub bullshit".

Hahaha.

Yes that was a very good form of interaction in the hot tub.

Always shower before getting in, some people forget this.

Generally I say the rule is the opposite in clubs. The aim is to be social, meet people and make connections (social and/or sexually). By sitting on your own in a hot tub (maybe more so as a single guy) your not engaging with anyone. Its unlikely (although not impossible) that people will queue up to join you in your hot tub when it's all going on in the other hot tub/s. Chances are you'll just get other unaccompanied guys join you and as nice as it may be to socialise and talk to other guys it then turns into a sausage fest that may not be conducive to your goals.
