Well, there has been quiet a lot happening at La Chambre over the past couple of months, First of all we suffered some storm damage to our roof, so we had to shut to deal with this, we also decided to use some of this time to revamp some areas of the club that we felted needed doing.
We have tried to keep the La Chambre style but also add a bit of modern touch to the place.
The paint brushes have been working over time with every room upstairs being decorated, a new New York room has been created along with some nice touches to other play rooms.
We are on the home straight now, with new carpets fitted and the last finishing touches being completed this week. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our Army of helpers who have done a fabulous job and we could not have done it with our you ( Thank You XXX ).
We are so looking forward to seeing everyone when we reopen on Friday 18th October

"Sadly I won`t be attending because by the time you are opening, I`m thinking about returning home or to my hotel. Why do you persist in opening so late! "
Because that's when most of the customers seem to want it open. Even then, people seem to prefer to get there later.

It never tends to get busy until 10pm onwards so it would be almost pointless to open earlier. |

Perhaps those who could attend earlier are put off the same as I am! The two clubs in Leeds are open earlier and one of them is open in the afternoon! Must be a market for them to do it! |

It's a shame there isn't a grand reopening party.
If it had been my club I would be trying to come back with a bang, maybe even free/reduced entry prices to try to create a buzz and a massive first night to create momentum to take forwards. Not just continuing with the usual Friday evening, only seemingly publicised in old threads about the place closing with no updates for weeks. It was very quiet before the closure and it seems despite repairs and a lick of paint nothing has changed in order to turn that round, which is a massive shame. No new evenings, no new promotions team, no new offers. It's as if they are happy with their traditional swinger customer base and don't want to attract new people.
I fear you may have found that people have tried the surrounding clubs like Quest and will not be coming back. If people haven't I can't recommend Quest enough - Quest is currently what La Chambre used to be 10 years ago.
I do wish the club well, but I predict within 6 months the place will be closed due to lack of custom. A friend of mine who works there Mark told me that the events for Halloween and Christmas/New Year should see the club survive into 2020 but not sure after that. |

I get your point about creating a buzz we only found out by chance and unfortunately cant make it now but the promo for another club was a bit cheap mate and dropping your mate in by naming him was wrong |

I just wanted to show that 2 mins on this site and you can see all clubs are running at least a couple of events a month to keep things bust and lively, like quest does, and it works. LC could easily do something similar but they seem only keen to please their small group of aging regulars.
Once you stop attracting new people, your membership becomes stale, and then that in turn stops new people attending. It's a downward spiral which sadly LC was in before. I had hoped the closure could have been used to come back with a bang and break out of the downward spiral, but it seems normal service has been resumed.
Yes I shouldn't have named names but you see many people on here claiming to know about things but sighting no sources, my input is based on facts.

"Sounds like you have been busy guys! Best of luck with your re-opening night xxx"
Townhouse do an amazing job, shame it's so far away. Always parties and events on here, guest list full and planning the next idea to keep their customers happy and coming back.
Can anyone name what La Chambre have done in the last 12 months?

Well for one we've just dealt with a significant structural repair to the building which admittedly took longer than expected. Rather than constantly give a reopen date then have to keep postponing, we decided to only set a date once we could guarantee opening.
We've also revamped our entry policies of different nights, expanded our bar range especially on the gin trend. We've had to undertake some essential maintenance on the pool and we've been tweaking the dungeon equipment. The revamp has been done by our regular staff and we're very grateful for all their effort.
Bear in mind on top of all this, our staff all do this as a second job because they love the place! So while we've been trucking along this year we've had two staff members on maternity/paternity, two more became grandparents and one is finishing a PhD. Our staff work bloody hard and we're looking forward to having everyone back at the club! Although we could also all do with a sit down after the last few months! |

Okay thanks, so to summarise your last post.
1, You've let single guys in every other Saturday.
2, Erm, got some more options of gin, and some tweaking in the dungeon.
Correct me if I missed anything....
Just a side note, maintenance such as repainting should be a constant thing - not something to expect recognition for. Staffing issues are for management to resolve, these do not lower expectations of paying customers.
Looking back at this, being honest, is it any wonder the club is so quiet these days?
It used to be amazing 8-10 years ago. The club is exactly the same as it was then, but the scene has moved on.

That's only the stuff we've done on top of our regular running this year. As always we've hosted a number of different themed parties, some fancy dress, had Ann Summers reps come in with demos. Our socials and open days are enjoyed by new and old members alike. Regular fetish nights and private hire events. We've arranged gangbang parties for members and hosted their own parties and socials alongside our regular nights.
I'm not too sure what you want me to say. We're running the club and putting on plenty, we just don't have as big a presence of fabswingers as clubs who are open every day with an events schedule to match. The essence of LC has been to provide a relaxed, no pressure, pub-for-swingers environment which we have been doing and will continue to do so, starting tonight! |

It all rather smacks of the club being run on a shoestring instead of being run properly, using staff to do maintenance instead of using proper tradespersons who could probably have done their bit quicker and just as cheap! Hopefully, proper tradespeople were used to do the structural repairs!
There also seems to be a need for some proper investment in staff to enable more opening days or longer hours. Times have changed. Many people now work from home so are available at different hours of the day. What worked 10 years ago may not necessarily work now!
Le Chambre describe themselves and being a "premier swinging club". From what I can see it certainly isn`t. |

Up on them there hills |
Haven’t been yet, however we will.
Personally I’m always more impressed with people who do things than those that just talk about it.
Wish you loads of fun and hope it turns it out brilliantly for you.
See you soon. |
