Music at Jaydees.. Tell us what you think???
Jump to: Newest in thread
Hi we have always had discussions about the music in our club.
Some want us to keep it low so they can talk and chat with each other and are happy with it being turned up by 11 pm
Some would like us to have it a disco all night long right from the start.
So we have a dilemma and will put the vote to all of you.
1 Disco from 11 pm to chat?
2 Disco straight away? |

Disco is always good, there have been some older slower songs that we have seen clear the room- best keep the vibe going (but we understand you cater to requests which can interrupt the flow depending on the person's choice) |

Think you should have music all night, but at a lower level until 11pm so people can hear themselves think! Then crank it up later when the players go off to play and the dancers want to dance |

We'd prefer no music other than background, but we recognize that plenty of others do. I think then turning it up later (but not so your fillings fall out!) would be our preference. We tend to lurk the other end though so doesn't tend to impact us anyway. |

I haven’t been to your club. But in my experience Music at chatting level is a good start. Turned up to a manageable but not excessive level later is good
My main bug bear with some clubs are that you can’t actually chat to people as the music is too loud |

in our opinion it needs someone in the dj booth from opening and through out the night keeping an eye on the dance floor, that can read the room
a regular dj would know what certain customers like and what works
it should also be a gradual build up in volume and speed as more people get on the dance floor
then maybe later in the evening when people have gone off to explore and enjoy the facilities slow it down a bit this would help to create a sexy atmosphere
some one that is approachable and that will listen to peoples requests |

Absolutely spot on and great that Tracy is seeking advice and opinions on this, she is great behind the wheel later on. What the people who are commenting that do not know the club don't realise is that there are other area's in the club to chat. The social area with comfy chairs is where we move to or the outdoor seating if weather permits. The disco area should be the disco area all night. It is pointless turning the music up at 11pm when that's the time of night most would be moving from the dance floor or social space to the play areas. Connections can be made in many area's of Jaydee's including the bar area or hot tub without affecting the vibe and energy that good music brings. |

That's a good argument, but it's also the bar area and food is served there too.
It would be nice to be able to have a conversation at a normal level if you bump into someone there early on and before the party really gets started.
Don't forget, people are probably still arriving up until 10.30/ 11pm. Xx

It's a large place with a dance floor but also has lots of other areas, theres a nice lounge with lots of sofas the hotub area and the upstairs, so for me if I found the music to loud I would venture off somewhere quieter, I have been on nights where the dance floor is rocking so its pump up the volume, but then quieter nights when you could easily say it might be more social to have it lower, I'm guessing it's just a case of what feels right on the night for the hosts, and if this site and the forums have taught me anything it's that you cant please everyone |

I agree.... there are plenty of other places within JayDee's to chat. Or I agree that there should be a dj of some sort to go with the flow/mood of the evening....but music should be played all evening and loud enough to dance to! |
