Am I the only person that will refuse to go to a club that charges a membership fee?
I’m not a cheapskate before anyone says lol. I’m a regular at Club SX and Townhouse and spend a lot of money at those places. Would love to try Pandora’s and Cupid’s plus a few others but the membership fees really put me off!!!
I think it’s more about the principle |

How would you know if you liked it enough without having to pay the membership first?
Cupid’s for a single male is £50 membership. What if I paid it and absolutely hated it? Would I get a refund? |

No you’re not mate. Having to stump up for an annual membership put me off visiting one particular club recently. I was in the area with work, and fancied a look in the place as I had heard so much about it. It would have been a complete one-off for me (easily confirmed by my home address on my id), as I live 200 miles away. I did ask for a ‘visitor’ discount at the time, which wasn’t available, but to be fair, they have offered me a special rate since There are other clubs more local to me, which I would have visited if not for their onerous membership fees |

Depends on the membership fee, and how often I can get to an event or night. £25-50 for a years membership with some incentives, I’d consider it worthwhile.
You’re never guaranteed a good night out at any venue you go to, be it the theatre, cinema, nightclub, Fetish or Swingers club. So expecting a refund on, one nights attendance wouldn’t be reasonable.
The clubs that charge a membership fee must see it as viable for their business, or they wouldn’t do it. |

Completely understandable as some clubs really do take the mickey!!
Wood leisure do is a daily
membership and a full-blown membership. Some clubs are just too damn greedy. |

For us it's a question of what you get for the price.
Silver membership at Eureka costs £10 a year and you then pay an entry fee each time you go. Gold costs £400 a year but you get free and reduced-price entry.
We have silver membership, and consider £10 reasonable, because we don't go often enough to justify paying £400. |

£10 most people won't blink at but 400 is over the top, but I doubt that's just for the occasional visitor, it's probably full access to the venue which is quite fair. |

You sending me to the competition? Had enough of me now?
I don’t go to other clubs enough to warrant spending any money on a membership.
Club SX is perfect. No membership fees and great facilities and staff.
Townhouse is perfect, it’s a little smaller but again, great facilities and staff. |

A good night for me is if I get to say hello to a few new people. It’s not about the sex. If it was, then I’d probably be cheaper going to an escort service for the night lol |

I prefer club's that do charge a small membership fee. It's worth looking if they do special guest nights, or if the membership lasts a year or if it's lifetime membership for a one off fee.
Not all clubs charge high amounts. |

It is always funny how people complain about having to pay to get into clubs. Surely it is all about personal choice and the business plan for the venue? It would be great to have more clubs, so we should appreciate the ones we have.
It is not dissimilar to going to nightclubs or even football clubs. Either go or not, or if you can do better start a new club and make it work the way you want it to... |

I don’t have to pay a membership to go to my local club. I don’t have to pay a membership to go watch my local premier league football club. Sorry but those are bad examples.
I didn’t complain about having to pay to get in. I’m fine with that. I pay Club SX £30 a night to get in. The other clubs are asking for £50 membership (for example) plus £50 a night!!!
I pay Townhouse between £5 and £20 depending on the event.
Neither charge memberships and are still usually cheaper then those that do!!!! |

It is your choice whether to go or not. What you’ll find with football clubs is if you are a member it is cheaper than just turning up. Following the analogy, you have no idea if your team are going to be worth watching, so why buy a season ticket until after you’ve worked out how good they are |

Some clubs do a guest membership where you can just go for one or two nights to try things and see if you like it before becoming a member, other clubs charge membership on your first night , some others don't have membership. It's your money it's up to you where you would like to spend it. |

The only way it gets cheaper “as a member” is if you buy a season ticket. But then you don’t have to pay every time you go after that. It’s just a one off fee that you pay for upfront. Unless you go to a cup game, but that’s an added extra.
And if you’re a true football fan, you’d go watch your team through thick and thin. I should know......Everton fan haha
In a club if you pay the “season ticket” then you still have to pay entry each time you go. |

Possibly. Or maybe I've got confused with my locker deposit. I don't know how as I still have to pay that every time. As I said must be my memory playing tricks on me. Senile at 27! |

Go to Eureka website selct menu then prices. There is tells you all the membership prices. Gold/silver and then what you pay for each event after that.
Silver membership is £10 per year but then daytime entrance for a couple is £25 or £35 for daytime and nightime entrance. Gold membership is free entry for couples daytime and £10 for the night entrance. We go on average 2 times a month so costs us £20 with gold membership as opposed to £70 with silver membership so well worth it for us. |

Many clubs are Private members club's in order to comply with council regulations. Paying a one off fee of £10 to become a member is not a big outlay.
If you don't want to pay a large membership fee, then check the website and choose your club carefully.
Problem solved......next ? |

I have certainly paid for membership of Scottish fetish clubs because when you are a member entry fee is reduced. So, that leaves me with would I pay for memberships for swinging clubs. Yes as long as the fee is nominal.
Would I pay for a private parties – nope.
Because I mentioned other sites I will be running my answer past the site owners for clarification – you are okay to allow only me on these matters
Private party hosters your thoughts are?
(CC to owners)
To someone like me BDSM, like swinging, is about friendship not a dull humping.

My only problem with clubs charging for membership and the prices men have to pay is that most places all that means is you get the richer guys, not the nicer ones.
Even at the club's that seem to be a bit more careful of personalities too I've come across a lot of (usually older) men trying to impress me by talking about their fancy cars and then trying to touch me without asking.
No amount of money heals a broken finger faster |

I don't think £50 is excessive for a club membership. We paid £50 for membership to a club a few years ago plus the entry fee on the day and have never been back since.
We have come across guys in clubs who have moaned about the cost because they didn't get a 'fuck' but they are the ones to avoid . |

I was invited to an event and it would have been £50 membership (for 6 months) and then £50 entrance fee! That’s £100, then there would have been £30 petrol, £20 for alcohol, plus a £70 hotel (big city). Total £220 for a night out.
Compare it to SX/Townhouse. £0/£0 membership, £30/£20 entrance fee, £10/£1 petrol cost, £20/£20 alcohol, £30/£20 hotel. Total £90/£61 total for a night out. (It’s only £1 petrol cause I live down the road from townhouse lol)
It’s not about whether or not I get a fuck. I’m there for the social side. It’s the principle. I don’t mind paying a bit more for a great club, but the membership fee is the problem that I refuse to pay. |

I’m with you mate; £40 annual membership + £30 entry + £50 taxi fare = £120 before I’d even had a drink, so put me off visiting one particular club recently. I messaged the club beforehand asking for a one-off/first time introductory offer, which wasn’t available, and even posted up in the ‘Meets’ section asking for a lift, but received no offers. |

Yeah I'm not a fan of events that use pricing as their way to control numbers as it makes me feel like bait and the men sometimes expect more when they've paid more. There's better ways to attract single women than free or cheap entry and there's better ways to limit single men than simply pricing them out. However there are events I have been to in the past that do do it differently and they have often been more expensive for everyone to attend and guest list only where the organisers have to have met you before or someone they know well has to vouch for you so it is less accessible for new people so there's positives and negatives to every approach.
However I don't see any issue with a membership fee of up to £30 that is a flat rate for everyone and there seems to be a lot of clubs charging £10 which hardly breaks the bank. I mean they do have to cover the costs of producing their cards and processing the information. There's many companies that charge £25 admin fees just to amend bookings for various things. |

It’s not about whether or not I get a fuck. I’m there for the social side. It’s the principle. I don’t mind paying a bit more for a great club, but the membership fee is the problem that I refuse to pay. "
Then just avoid the clubs that charge and go to the ones that dont |

Why do you need a hotel if you live down the road ? |

"However I don't see any issue with a membership fee of up to £30 that is a flat rate for everyone and there seems to be a lot of clubs charging £10 which hardly breaks the bank. I mean they do have to cover the costs of producing their cards and processing the information. There's many companies that charge £25 admin fees just to amend bookings for various things."
So how come some clubs can charge a lower entrance fee and have no membership fee still manage to operate whilst others charge £50/£75/£100 membership fee plus double the entrance fee?
As an example of last Saturday. I won’t name the clubs.
Club A: £0 membership £20 entrance £1 a drink
Club B: £75 membership £50 entrance £2.50 a drink
The entrance fees are for single males. For single females it was a bit better
Club A: £0 membership £10 entrance £1 a drink
Club B: £20 membership £20 entrance £2.50 a drink
I didn’t note the couples prices sorry.
Club A had quite a guest list, over 20 single females, limited to 10 single males and listed 14 couples. Club B (according to the guest list) was mainly couples with 2 single females and 6 single males.
I didn’t go to either of these clubs. But from past experience, when the club is heavy on couples, it tends to be more clicky. |

You live down the road but pay £20 for a hotel?"
I can drink and if I have a great night, the party can continue at the hotel lol
Don’t always pay hotel, could get taxi £10 each way. It’s not literally down the road lol
Or I could not drink, £1.80 each way in the tunnel |

I don't know why you're asking me. I just said I thought a membership fee of up to £30 per person was fair. I would say though that clubs in big cities probably have higher operating costs but I guess you would have to ask them. |

Sorry, wasn’t asking you, I did start my reply to you but went off on a tangent lol
It’s not unreasonable to ask for a membership fee, I’m just saying I refuse to pay one when I have so much fun in clubs that don’t charge one. They get my patronage and my loyalty for that simple reason. |

Have no problem with a membership fee for our local club as we have the ability to visit them as and when we can during the year.
It would be nice if clubs that charge a membership fee could perhaps off a visitors facilities as we like to visit clubs when we are on our travels and it can be expensive when you have to pay a membership and entry and in most cases will not be back within the year. |

I’ve been to 2 clubs across the country where single male charge has been way more than couples or single females. On filling the form out with details, one actually asked occupation, when I wrote trading standards and just asked (very nicely) the question if they could rightfully charge single males more than couples and single females. One club let me in for same price, the other actually said oh we have enough single males in and refused entry. Now every club has the right to refuse entry. |

Depends on the fees!! There's a club which is one of the most local (still 70 ish miles if not more!) And with the membership and entry and overnight stay it's unaffordable for us!!
We went to xtasia when away and we had to pay a membership which was OK because we did 2 nights but we will very rarely be able to visit and we weren't impressed with xtasia.
We prefer no membership fees our most local club doesn't have membership nor does our most local organised party.
When you live in Cornwall clubs are hard enough to get to let alone more fees on top!! |

It's always a good idea to phone first to make sure that you will get in to save a wasted trip. Places can be full or have different requirements.
I agree they should be listed on the website but a quick phone call could save a lot of time.
As a single girl if I'm going to a new club I always contact them first. |

I’ve just had a PM (won’t be mentioning names) that reminded me of a recent experience that proves my point!!!
I was in blackpool and thought I’d try out Infusions after being let down for a meet.
I paid the membership and the entrance fee and went inside. It’s a beautiful place, very clean and I loved the swimming pool. But the place was empty!
At its peak during my time, 3 single males and a TGirl in the club. That was it!!!
Then the staff tried talking me into staying longer and wanted to charge me a further £20 for the privilege!!! It shows that they were putting money and greed ahead of the customer.
I’ll never go back = membership a waste of money. |

"Townhouse let you in regularly without a membership?
I’m a member, but you don’t have to pay for the membership.
I did.
Apologies just read the website and apparently it's free. I swear I remember paying £10 for it but it was years ago so must just be my memory!
Haha I’ve been a member there for a lllloooonnnngggg time and never paid a membership fee. Maybe you just paid £10 entrance?
Possibly. Or maybe I've got confused with my locker deposit. I don't know how as I still have to pay that every time. As I said must be my memory playing tricks on me. Senile at 27!"
Townhouse membership is free. When you were given your membership card, you will have still paid your £10 locker deposit plus whatever the entry fee was for the event - maybe that’s the confusion!

It is all about supply and demand. Do you pay for gym membership and use the facilities. I see it as no difference. Place like chams you have jacuzzi steam and saunas and love the rooftop terrace in the summer. Plus you bring your own booze. As a single girl it is still cheaper to have a fab night and stay over including trains than it is for a night out on the town and great value for money x |

Some club events dont require membership etc.
Swinging can be an expensive hobby in the long run, maybe play when you can pay |

I wasn’t complaining that women get in cheaper. I think they should! Let’s be honest, it’s what brings in business cause more men want to come then.
But it’s not just women that spend a fortune. I spent £36 on boxers last week and I never wear underwear unless I’m at a club haha

"Tbh £50 a year, that's less than a quid a week if you attend once a week.
Do you really think that's a lot? "
Yes because it’s not just £50 and I don’t go every week. It’s £50 plus £50 entrance, plus petrol, plus hotel.
When I could just go to my local two clubs, no membership and save a lot more money on entrance fee and no membership.
Not to mention I love my two local clubs so would take a lot for me to find another one and go enough times to warrant the membership fee. |

How would you know if you liked it enough without having to pay the membership first?

Go on a themed/party night and you won't pay membership, just an admission fee. |

Pays your money, takes your choice. That's fair enough. But likewise clubs have free choice to set their membership fees as they see needed and inline with their objectives for their club. Personally I don't mind fair membership fees if it's a club I will attend a bit. I like to think that a membership system encourages good behaviour. In reality I found that membership systems don't gaureentee good behaviour. Having said that I found the behaviour in general to be better in membership clubs than non membership clubs. |

Only 1 club on that list we'd consider attending.
As for Townhouse isn't menbership free but you have to earn it by attending non member nights? Then they choose the guys to give it to based on behaviour and how they fit into the club.
We are regulars at cupids and have to say we've never encountered any problems with single guys. |

I don’t believe that’s true at all. I’ve escorted many people to townhouse and as long as they’ve been on the guest list at the event, then they’re free to join.
Townhouse mostly do limit the amount of single males that can gain entry; but that’s a different story.
One thing you said is true, if your behaviour doesn’t fit the type of clientele that they are looking for, ie if you keep touching women without asking, doing drugs etc, then they’ll revoke your membership. But isn’t that a good thing? |

No you’re not mate. Having to stump up for an annual membership put me off visiting one particular club recently. I was in the area with work, and fancied a look in the place as I had heard so much about it. Chameleons charge £80 membership for a single guy it’s scandalous why guys have to pay so much for just being a member then every time you go you have to pay £33 entrance free too. I don’t mind paying membership but some clubs just rip guys off, so I go places like the Atlantis which is one off £10 membership or the Attic where no membership is required |

Thats definitely a good thing.
According to the townhouse website this is their single guy policy
'Memberships are given at our discretion
We will need to get to know you at non member events first
We don't issue memberships based on looks or size of appendage!
We want guys who respect our club, our members and rules' |

Because they chose to and have a waiting list so why undersell, it's called supply and demand and keeps the swinger vibe for couples. Like you say you go elsewhere that caters for your needs |

I was in Birmingham for the weekend in January, and looked at visiting the club while I was there. After pricing up the £40 annual membership + £30 entry + £50 round trip taxi fare, I firstly approached the club asking for a one night introductory discount, which they said wasn't available, then listed up in the 'Meets' section asking if anyone was going, could they offer me a lift? I received no replies, so I didn't go. It was after discussion in the forum that the club contacted me directly, and offered me a discounted rate for the next time I'm in town, which is fair enough, as I would like to visit them at least once |
