Just how difficult would it be to open up a club as a profitable professional business

Very, from previous threads. A few club owners have been very generous with giving advice and the benefit of the experiences (townhouse is particularly helpful - kudos to them) and all say it's a lifestyle business than something that'll make you lots of money. Doesn't mean you shouldn't try, just you need to go in with your eyes open.

That said, we have attended a well-known monthly party and that looked to have taken a significant amount of money. They don't have abide many of the same rules as clubs so fewer investments, insurances, etc, but equally their house must be trashed after every party. So again, not sure what the true profit would be.

You can make a small fortune from a swinging club.

You just need to start with a large fortune

It may be parties....

Recall an article about 10 years ago re a party at a conference venue somewhere in Somerset.. The jist being how at midnight everyone disrobed and started making out, security who initially tried to stop the first few couples gave up when they realised everyone was at it...

It was the figures (numeral ones) that were staggering... Say there were 250 in attendance 200 couples.. 50 single women... Couples paid 150 (30000) women 100 (5000) total 35k.

Venue charged 10k leaving profit 25k...well not used exact figures but can remember thinking there was something like a 80k profit.. Get it right and there's certainly profit in the sex industry..

I think some of the hosts in clubs make alot of money from their events. Suppose they don't have to worry about insurance, licences and the associated bills with running a club. All they need is x number of single men/women and couples through the door. Excellent marketing skills, and the ability to recognise and pander to the cash cows that will drawn in the crowd, will be part of their success.

I think actually running a club would be v stressful and not necessarily lucrative in the long run.

Surely the hosts give most of the money to the club.

Most hosts work on a commission basis.....

Despite having worked in clubs as bar staff and management and also hosted parties for several years now, I would not want to own one.

The hours are horrific, the set up and maintenance costs likewise and the paperwork side of things is a tad pants too......

Nevermind customer and interclub politic bollocks!

Not sure your math is quite right. 250 in attendance, minus 50 women leaves 200. That's 100 couples, not 200. So their revenue is 15000. Still potentially an ok profit. That said, the house party we went to was nearer 50 a couple - a 150 a couple is very steep unless it was an amazing one off. Hire price looks low too - heard of wedding venues that cater for that many for 20k+ just for dry hire....

Presumably they had the expense of installing beds or were people expected to copulate on the floor?

If you cherish your sanity, don't do it.

If you want a Labour of love, 80-90 hour weeks, minimum wage but a club to be proud of, get in touch and I will answer any questions xx

An event 10 years ago made a profit. !!! Have run a busy club it still didn’t make a profit. Other than having the ability to play with 100s of women ( but doesn’t pay the bills ). Times have changed from 10 years ago. On another post new liaisons was totally pulled apart ... go back 10 years and the couples nights were to a point where people were regularly tuned away as it was full .... fast forward 10 years and the internet has killed it. Any good looking person / couple puts up a meet or private party and who will be inundated. So why pay to go to a club

To make it work you have to have people wanting to attend one in the area you set it up in so start with location and demand.

A slightly different post.

I run my own business involving a hobby / pastime. I enjoy what I do but it is also a lifestyle business which means as well as not making big profits I don't have time for other stuff including fab swingers.

I enjoy what I do, enjoy being very involved with a hobbie of mine but the hours are horrendous.

Going to an event is the easy bit, it's all the other stuff you have to do to be there that no one ever sees. All they see is lots of people and me taking money.

I imagine running a club / swingers business would be similar. You would need to be very committed.

my hubby used to arrange fetish/bdsm events in Switzerland with life bi vampire shows, floggings, bars etc. on average 650 guests

after insurances, policing, payment of life performers, cleaning and buckets of other things the net profits were 2000 to 3000 pounds

it was for the fun and many swinger clubs the owners dedicate themselves and don't earn bucket loads of money

I always thought the original quote related to running a live music venue and was made by Ronnie Scott
