Planning a wee trip to here next month recommendations of places to stay near by please, I know they have rooms but fancy a spa/country break with a bit of fun on the side..TIA.xx

There's a hotel 2 mins walk away, hotel 52. It's clean tidy and simple.

For a spa, you'll need to look further afield to Ramside Hall.

Country hotels in sensible distance you have Beamish Hall, South Causey Hotel or Lumley Castle.

It's just a best Western and it's almost seen better days but I've only been in the public spaces, not stayed.

We stay at the rams hide in Durham when we come upto clubs, can't go far wrong it's a fabulous hotel, great rooms, spa is a little pricey though.

The south Causey some of the really nice rooms have hot tubs etc. Depends on how much you wanna pay.
