"purple mamba in Nottingham, quite small and intimate, beautifully decorated with lovely hosts" purple mamba is a bit close to home, would like to be a bit further out untill we've found our feet

There and to the left a bit |
To be honest any of the mainstream "known" ones would work OP - most have a fairly good policy in place to welcome newbies and make them feel at ease, including giving a tour, explaining etiquette etc and even introducing you to other couples.
Best bet would be take a look through the Club Reviews section on here and the Clubs websites themselves to get an idea of what they offer and how that might fit with what you are looking for.
Personally I'd recommend The Vanilla Alternative not far from Bedford on the A1 - it's clean, it's classy, is very welcoming, doesn't require membership fees to be paid, has a massive hot tub and other great facilities - it has the added bonus of having a number of hotel rooms upstairs you can stay in (for a similar price to Travelodge/Premier Inn) and can use for play during club hours if you want a little more privacy.
Liberty Elite is very similar in set up but believe you have to pay a membership fee up front there, although they do have some nights where this doesn't apply.
It all depends what you think you might be looking for ultimately. |

We'd like to start of clothed and be able to drink and socialise/ dance first. I like the idea of a hot tub too! We were thinking about xtasia, but we're not sure if it will be too much for the first time |

Most good clubs will be great for your first time to be honest.
I always recommend that you do some research in the club reviews section, but many reviews for clubs are from avid supporters, so take them lightly. However, it's a good start as the bad clubs are reflected in the wording of some reviews....a bit of Miss Marple is needed lol
Then go to the website. A good website will jump out at you straight away and it will be obvious if the club is genuinely welcoming to newbies and forward thinking or just wants your money!
Lastly and importantly, give the club a ring and get a feel for the owners. Most good owners will be really open and accommodating and will be able to put your mind at ease.
People will always flag up their fave club when people ask such questions as has been asked in this thread, but sometimes, they haven't been elsewhere to compare and opinions are subjective. I know one club that gets good reviews on here and I swear they must be talking about a different venue as I thought it was awful! But that is my opinion...and that's my point.
So do your homework and form your own opinion, then go for it!!
Good luck guys but I must warn you, once you go to a club, it can be a little addictive!!!! haha
