I feel more obliged to participate at a private party. As it is normally held in a private house, with limited number of guests, just by coming to a party you kind of agree to play. Even if you don't know other guests. That's why for me, clubs are better as there is zero expectations for me to play. |

Honestly if you go to a club there are loads not playing, or playing on there own with no obligation to play this is the same with a large 10 plus people party.
However at small gatherings most are there to play and whilst there is no obligation to play others expect you to, sometimes at small parties people will show up and leave fairly quickly if it’s not doing it for them or they feel out of there depth x |
