Do people go to clubs just to socialise?
The wife and I have our first opportunity to visit one after chatting about it for a year. I'm not working away and the kids are away at Grand parent's. However its the wrong time of the month, So do people go just to clubs just to socialise, find more out about the club and soak up the atmosphere, at least in our scenario there is no pressure to play.

It's perfectly fine to socialise in clubs.
I've visited Cupids on quiet days where there wasn't many people in. Sure I didn't play which didn't bother me as I enjoyed chatting with the people that were there. |

I imagine it depends on the club, but certainly at the one I go to the social side is very important. It's as much about meeting like-minded people and having a good chat with old and new friends as getting physical with them.
No one is going to mind you not playing. That's entirely up to you - would it be any different if you went there and just didn't see anyone you fancied?
It's a good idea in any case to give yourselves a gentle introduction the first time. Go in with no expectations, just see how it works and start getting to know people. Without the pressure of thinking you have to play, you'll have a better time socialising, and hopefully meet some people you get on with for the next time you go. |

Yep we do it all the time. Sometimes we have more fun chatting and totally forget about playing and it’s time to go home. Clubs are there for how you want to use them. Just go have fun, chat and see how things go! You might meet people that you can hook up with another time xx. Enjoy xx |

We had our first visit to members club in clacton last night. It was rather quite with only a handful of people in and no play going on, which we put down to it being a bank holiday weekend.
But it was a really good night, spent it all chatting with the staff and feeling really at ease, we have vowed to visit again and hopefully experience it when it busier. |
