I was told they are taking over the former spring health gym which is off bath road in Longford village.

I use to be a member. Pool is tiny and there isn't much space for outside area but has potential to be a chameleons type club as it has numerous levels

Different council and it’s not a residential location.

I would imagine it would come under Hillingdon council or Slough council. Will look at map when I get home. There is a lap dancing club round the corner so can't see an issue

I don't think that green space is on the menu. The area surrounding it is a car park.

The reason I didn't answer the query over planning permission re. Commercial / domestic is that I simply don't know. Bear in mind as well anyone going round for a look that as you look at the building from the front it's only the leisure club on the right, the office block to the left is unconnected.

As for planning it’s normal to meet the planning officer first on a no predujice basis before submitting an application. This is not going to be an easy one so I’m sure they are taking their time to get it right. After all they lost s lot of money last time and do t want to do the same again.

I do believe it was Surrey County Council that caused the grief at the previous place, the new planned site would be covered by Hillingdon Council, maybe easier to deal with.

Rightly or wrongly, the planning disputes was based on building on green belt. There may have been an ulterior motive but legally it was that not the ‘knickers off’ scenario that did for them.

Having done a little bit more site research the venue is slap bang in the middle of the compulsory purchase zone for the Heathrow expansion. As that’s going ahead why would you buy a site there, invest time and resiurces for it to close shortly.

They will need planning permission but none can be found online.

If reopening the club is a serious venture by Graham and Ann, then they should post their plans online for all to see. Tell us know who’s building it, and do a proper decent job.

Otherwise people might soon regret being so trusting. It doesn’t take long to put a note on their website saying as much.

Lots of questions remain in my mind before I would get involved. In the immortal words of Hill Street Blues “yippe kai aye, be careful out there.”

Update. I havnt had time to pop up there yet. The address is 422 Bath road if anyone cares to have a look on Google earth.

The snap shot I got has the for sale sign still up so I will be curious to see if that has been removed when I drive up there.

It looks like a venue with great potential, forget about outside sunbathing n think about the prospect of having a club similar to Chameleons just outside of London.

Chams is one of the best clubs in the UK so hopefully it can model that.

I've just drove up there. It's a massive building and the sign at the front says 'terms agreed. If be amazed if they got it ready by the summer as there is a lot to do judging from the outside.

The gym sign is still on it, there's broken windows round the side and the car park has a lot of s.

There is no sign of builders either, a club that size would need serious refurbishment.

How do we know this is the venue?? I found out it was heavily shortlisted as a potential club just before Kestrel closed down.

On the email it describes a venue similar to this and it is exactly 2 miles from Kestrels.

If this is the venue, can someone back it up please?

There is a small area at the back but it's all concrete n shaded. Wouldn't make good sunbathing but could fit an outside pool.

Car park has a lot of s although grass has evidently been mowed.

But is this the venue that's the question?.?

It will be many years before the site is compulsory purchased and if it happens Heathrow have to pay above market value. Nobody else wants the site so if they negotiate wisely then they won’t lose money whatever happens.

Let’s just remember that to get this up and running is a task beyond most people in this site and those calling for them to do this and that should cut them some slack before I insisting they share all their plans with you.

Anybody wanting serious involvement is free to approach them personally and offer suggestions!
