As for socials its Gloucester (brill) and Bristol (not been)
Clubs
Nearest to us is Remix in Swindon (30mins)....erm, er.. been once...prefer to drive 2hrs to Chams which tells you all you need to know about Remix lol
Then Angels in Melksham (1 hour or so) ... great friendly club... been loads..
Tried to organise an 'Oxford' social via fab last year but got a ban for mentioning possible venues so, basically, gave up and now do our own thing...

"I posted a thread about a social event earlier in the year, but the response was minimal so didn't bother. Maybe something to reignite early next year..."
I'll joint host with you.
As I've got the majority in the area blocked (mainly for messaging me when I've asked not to be messaged) it would be a good filter to only get respectful single guys |

I'm curious as to the legislation surrounding swinger's clubs in regards to planning permission.
Given that they are likely primarily private affairs and subject to the same practicalities (parking, amenity, use class) it's strange that oxfordshire authorities have such a lock down on them.
I'd have thought an initial rejection by a Local Authority could be swiftly and easily combated in an appeal. So long as said venue isn't say, in a residential area. |

Has anyone actually tried to set one up? |

Oxford is where swinging goes to die! Lol.
We've had some brilliant private meets at our place and other people's places but having to travel to clubs seems to be our best bet, which we don't mind. But a social somewhere for loads of us would be AMAZING! |

It does seem odd, as in my limited experience, people who studied at Oxford are amongst the kinkiest people I've met.
Perhaps they are making up for time lost at uni. |

"I have my own pub, I’d be happy to help organise a social.
What facilities do you have....? "
We do not do food but I can reserve an area and you can talk freely. It’s basically a really nice pub with a gin bar, real ales and craft lager. |

I was just about to ask the same thing about the lack of Oxford clubs when this thread popped back up. It would be awesome to be able to meet some friendly fun people without a 2 hr drive home! Then mention ‘gin bar’ and we would love to attend! |

I haven't a clue. Unfortunately licensing applications aren't transparent in the same way that planning permission applications are.
We'd need 'someone on the inside' as it were |

And someone with a spare £30k to cover the set up costs
We have always said that if we had the money we would love to open up a club but alas full time work and lack of funds means we have to travel to other clubs
Remix is our closest in Swindon |
