It’s a shame that some Fetish events have such a poor door policy.
It’s frustrating when you look forward to attending, maybe even buying something for the event ... only to find that there’s the ubiquitous single prowlers in jeans and lumberjack shirts.
Ok ... it’s not their fault. .. I blame the poorly enforced door policy ( if any)
I fully understand that the club is a commercial enterprise and need to turn a profit and that the single guys get stung for a premium entry fee.
They probably feel they then have the right to their monies worth.
Having a background in the fetish industry ... I have seen many clubs come and go... but the ones that were successful did have a door policy that was enforced . |

Agree with this completely. Not sure if you were at a specific event last night but it was our first time attending a club let alone a fetish night.
As soon as we walked in we found guests not dressed to the code (mainly men) and also had one man on his phone as we walked in which instantly made us feel uneasy.
There were at least a couple of men that could barely walk by midnight due to being d*unk. The club said they would eject anyone that seemed like they’d had too much and this was the final nail that made us decide to leave early.
The expectations that we had having not been before were completely blown and we are now wondering whether all clubs are the same and whether we would spend our money going to one again. |

Depends on the venue and the event
Most I have been involved in have minimum black and don't allow jeans or trainers. If it's a fetish event held at a swingers venue, often the swingers can attend and don't have to abide by any dress code
You have the other extreme where clubs expect people to spend a couple of hundred pounds on an outfit just to get in
But also when there is a code people have different views on it. Not everyone is in to wearing latex, PVC or leather or can afford it

It’s good that Swing clubs host themed events.
But there will always be the ‘regulars’ who will feel they have the god given right to access a themed event such as a fetish night, irrespective of any dress code.
The thought of guys wandering around on their phones and able to take pics as well as being d*unk is totally out of order ... that just wouldn’t happen in a dedicated fetish club.
I suppose it’s a case of reading club reviews and talking to people who have attended.
It’s sad that a first club experience is so negative, but we would of done the same . |

The main experience I have of get events is at Xtasia who don't allow phones
The main event I go to there has an inhouse photographer if people want pictures of their outfits which is a great idea |

Our private event held at the same venue has a strict dress code, mobile phone and excessive drinking policy and as it is only us that are manning the door all night and do regular walkabouts during the night then we do enforce that rule.
It is a shame that you had an uneasy experience for your 1st visit to a club.
I do know there was a special birthday event held at Hellfire this past weekend.... |

For me, dressing for a fet event is part of the process and makes it more enjoyable. My outfit is part of my fetish.
We enforce an all dark clothing/fetish wear/alt wear dress code on our fetish events and everybody adheres to it. We may get the odd one or two who try and bend the rules, but they don't do it again!! lol
Our fet events have been running successfully for 13 years and we are packed out; part of the reason is definitely down to us enforcing all of our rules; dress code being one of them!
Those who are totally into the scene, understand why an enforced dress code is important. Those that are doing it to make money and fill the club, are not generally into the scene and don't understand the need and desire (for the most part) for a strict dress code.
