"So I have been told that secrets is a great place to start for a first party. So my partner rang them to see if we could get in, they were please to say yes to a FF couple, informed us of time etc, then inform us that the dress code for females is a dress, we explained that one of us is not comfortable in dresses and has never been but will wear a fitted female suit. This was knocked back and we were then informed we could not attend unless both in dresses. I find this sexist and extreamly unbelievable, I understand a dress code but to only allow women to were a dress is extrwamly unfair. A FF couple puttting themselfs out there to be knocked back because of a dress. " Wow!! I've been thinking about going but if I have to wear a dress not sure I want to now

"Our dress code is straightforward, for guys it's smart casual and for the girls it's sexy. I was told that this person wanted to turn up in a male type suit as she prefers to dress and act in a masculine way. We do not accept single males or crossdressers of either sex which is one of the reasons our parties are so succesful as that perfectly suits the mixed sex couples who come to our parties and we have no intention of bowing to the whim of the occasional oddity. As another poster put it - our party, our rules. If you want to masquerade as a bloke there are plenty of places that will have you but we're not one of them so get over yourself!" Masquerade as a bloke??? Are you serious. Ffs this antiquated, Victorian view really can't still exist today can it? Unbelievable

"Well if a TV is a guy masquerading as a woman, and there can be no argument to that, then how can a woman acting like a bloke and wearing male clothes be considered anything other than a woman masquerading as a man? It's called equality! It's not a Victorian attitude, it's a plain and simple fact and if the political correctness police don't like it they can go and blow it up their militant arses." Do you do all your own PR ?

"Secrets is a unique place. Coming from the south West to have a club like this that’s not the other side of the U.K. is amazing. I live in North Devon and to get to any decent clubs I’d be heading to the midlands. Secrets is classy and I’ve had an amazing time there in the past. I do hope they still have the wooden cross. I’ve never been harassed here and it’s not sleazy like some clubs. " The venue can be as classy as it wants, clearly the owners arent

"Shocking attitude " we have no intention of bowing to the whim of an occasional oddity". Calling a woman who chooses to wear trousers an oddity ?" No, I'm calling a woman who chooses to dress as a man and act in a manly way an oddity as defined by the Oxford English dictionary - a peculiar trait. I think you'll find I'm right.

The same as we choose only to invite mixed sex couples and not invite single guys and crossdressers. You have to have rules, it's what made this country great, if you don't have rules everything turns to shit - did I really have to explain that or are you just winding me up?

" if the political correctness police don't like it they can go and blow it up their militant arses." We're not talking about regulating what people say we're talking about actual discrimination like refusing services to people. And let's be clear, you only get away with it because you are a private member's club , just as golf clubs got away with not admitting women members. Dress codes at swing clubs are there to create a sexy atmosphere, not an atmosphere of the 1950s ( though I'd totally theme one of my parties as 1950s, though I'd be being ironic) "...you'll have the muslims after you " I'm old enough to remember signs saying 'no Blacks, no gays and no jews'. I guess the modern equivalent is 'no Muslims, no TVs and no women wearing trousers'

" None of the insults they've been dishing out on this thread point to them being even remotely upset. In fact they were celebrating how many bookings they have had on the back of this. They have proved the type of people they are if it was in any doubt.

I am disappointed with secrets being stuck behind the times I was told it would be a great place to start and have fun. Even been aprouched by people asking us to join them there as they find us entriging and want to explore more. My partner turns many heads and her confidence certainly turns many on. It definitely worked on me who had never even thought of opening my world to a woman. So secrets ... I'm pleased you got 4 tickets sold and I hope you continue to enjoy your evenings however ladies and gentlemen if you ever want to come along to the 21st century we'll be heading to swinger quay and hopefully decs and as many other sexy parties who would like to invite us along. Made us feel welcome AS WE ARE in what ever made us feel sexy and even said they were looking forward to seeing us so thank you to all who have messaged with reccomendations. We have lots of exploring to do and we can't wait to get started *kisses* " Excellent outcome from this whole sorry episode. Looks like you dodged a bullet by virtue of the owners obnoxiousness and you have our gratitude for exposing it. Have a ball at Steamers Quay!
