Paradise in Bournemouth is closing for a month at the end of this month. The whole of August will be used to revamp the club so if you want to go, now is your chance until September. |

About four years ago they had a major revamp changing some things around. At that time they were closed 3 or 4 months. I'm very surprised they are doing the same again so soon. It's not a big place so there are limited things that can be done. |

I'm not an expert but, I would guess all the costs of the "revamp" will be offset against the businesses tax bill for the year.
Makes good business sense to do it every 3 to 4 years I suppose |

Yes, it's hard to see how they can make major improvements given the space they have. I do hope they at least make the downstairs 'communal' area (or whatever it's called) less like a doctor's surgery waiting room, sort the plumbing out for the showers and lighten the decor in the playrooms. A non-slip surface on the staircase would be good too. |

"About time it had a revamp as it’s got very tired. Maybe they will sort the showers out after years of being asked! "
Oh, not heartened by the shower comment. Oh well, will just have to wait and see what they do. |

Can anyone confirm if the club has closed for August as per the earlier post ? No mention on the website and they are advertising events over the next 7 days. I’m down this weekend and was going to pop in after a trip to studland. |

Yes it is now closed. It will reopen on Saturday 1st September. It will have a new name when it reopens according to staff. |

"Looking to visit when it re opens in September can anyone confirm it’s prices for singles males and opening times? X"
In short, no. I tried phoning a few days ago and no one answered. The website hasn't changed.
The price was 25 for guys, but I guess that might change |

I agree, to a point, about the increased cost, but until you`ve been in and seen the improvements, perhaps, increased space and facilities then it`s best to give the benefit of doubt for the moment. |

I went last night, it was £40 to get in, don't know how much couples were paying. There is a new sauna, new kitchen and new lighting. Apart from that new paint scheme and generally smarter and bit more modern. |

Hummmmmmmm,it's around the corner from me, but I don't think the vibe is the same, with the whole price thing....
I would rock up if any girl would couple up with myself.. |

From a couples point of view to be honest we cant understand what all the fuss is about with the prices at Temptations. £30 entrance fee per couple is on average what we would pay to get in to any of the other clubs that we visit. We judge a club by cleanliness, facilities and attitude of the staff and other people we meet there. From our visit yesterday we cant fault Temptations on any of those points |

We would agree with that, those prices seem on par with what we have heard other places charge. To be honest, it's not the fees that we worry about either, that is the same as a cheap night out, like the above have said the ambience and attitude of the club and those who run it are for us the most important thing. Clients are another matter but that's out of everyone's control, and not always to everyone's taste, and not the establishments fault and even if they aren't your cup of tea, most people can at least be friendly and be good for a laugh and chat.

£40 for a single guy is £7 more than Chameleons but I seriously doubt if this club has a quarter of the space and facilities that Chams has got! From what I`ve made out from the posts in this thread the club has had little more than a heavy clean and a coat of paint and not, as I`d hoped from the length of time it was closed, a complete re-vamp and extension. Now perhaps than would have justified a price hike, but still not £40! |

Still, if you can get there before 6 it's only £30 for a single guy, which is not out of line with many places. I agree £40 is a bit steep given how small the venue is.
By the looks of the latest reviews, it sounds like enough has been improved to tempt me to do a comparison visit. Especially glad to hear the crappy showers have been sorted. That was my main issue when I went about three months ago.
Curious about the sauna. Is it still in the same place? Also, does the downstairs area next to the kitchen still look and feel like a doctor's waiting room? |
