We would like to go to a club on Saturday night. It will be our 2nd club visit (our 1st since moving down south). It seems Mingles is the closest but people have mentioned JDs and VAs. Any non biased advice would be very much appreciated please ?

In all honesty all the owners are really nice people at all 3 clubs. Mingles and VA much more modern looking. Not that Jd’s isn’t nice lovely building and very large. As has been said VA has a licensed bar the other 2 are byob. |

Mingles is quite small but is easily the best club out of the three for a friendly atmosphere. Run by a young couple who take pride in involving all their guests into their very welcoming club, it's quite on the pulse of what is on trend and seems much more social than other clubs.
VA is very clicky and has a bit of a snobbish atmosphere, the owners and building gives the impression that it's very exclusive or upper market
although to be fair, I haven't been there for a number of years but it's not exactly cheap for drinks at the bar.
JD'S can seem quite downmarket and has a uncomfortable "inner circle" that is quite hard to overcome, it also is not the most modern in decor and the access in the converted barn can be a odd for the less able, you can expect to climb over beams and sit on busted soft furnishings that been dumped in rooms with no thought to interior design, rather then what the owners have found going cheap from the local charity shops.
Also the music choices can really make your eyes roll... You really don't expect to see line dancing, karaoke and hear the Fast food song being played while in a swingers club but at JD's it seems to be normal.... some of the dance floor sounds are straight from a very cheesy holiday camp. |

Our vote would be VA.
Easily the nicest club in the UK, venue is top notch and the staff are all brilliant. They also have a proper DJ and a bar.
I've seen people say it's clicky, but we were made feel welcome from the moment we walked in and have always found everyone there really friendly.
Being in the midlands we have a load of clubs within a 45 min radius but take that extra hour to drive down South when we got out.
It's also the owners birthday party so should be pretty busy for a Bank Holiday. |

We love the VA and we are there ourselves Saturday too.
It is definitely one of the nicest club's in the UK at the moment. Some say it's clicky but we have never experienced that, We have friends that got here and know the staff but I've never seen anyone turn their back on people that make it clear they want to join in the fun.
Hot tub and play areas are amazing and it has an attached hotel too which the ladies love for the convenience.
Bar is normal pub prices no dearer than a pub because that's what it is.
Come say Hi if you go and we'll see you at the bar
Unless you fancy a social meet first... lol |

Having been to all three, I would ALWAYS recommend Mingles club.
It's the best out of the three, most friendly and also cleanest too.
The owners literally bend over backwards to make sure ALL their guests are enjoying themselves, and if your very lucky the DJ may play a request for you.... the music is always up to date (shame about the DJ)
So marks out of ten... mingles gets am eleven! |

Hi we’ve been to JDs and VA. Yet to try Mingles......so here goes! Lol
All clubs are set up by couples and they set the clubs up based on their perception of how swinging should be.
JD has a bring your own bar, large dance floor often busy, with a few lockable rooms and a couples only area. They also show areas of play on cctv screens, they have a lovely large hot tub but no play allowed. The lockable rooms are available after play to stay over.
VA has a licensed bar and for its geographical area pub priced. Unlike some clubs no lockable rooms but lots of nook and cranny areas, that allow discrete watching and or showing off. They too have a large hot tub but they allow play, they also have a couples only area and hotel rooms.
Applicable to both there is no clicky atmosphere but an increase in people arranging to meet at the club. But we have found the bar area at both best place to chat. And both have seating areas for quiet chat!
So to sum up try them all at least once if not twice lol mix and match and chat lots!
Have fun ! Mingles next for us! |

Thanks for all your advice. All 3 sound great and eventually we'll visit all 3. Budget is an issue at the moment as we've just moved house and spent a few quid recently so I think this weekend it'll be either Mingles or Jaydees as the byob will make a big difference (we both like a drink lol) x |

I can’t speak for Mingles as it’s still on the ‘to do list’. VA and JayDees are both great and both have really good staff teams. The downside to VA is the lack of private play areas and for JayDees it’s the occasionally whacky layout.
I didn’t find either to be particularly cliquey; yes there were groups who evidently knew each other well and weren’t always the most welcoming, but people don’t have to talk to everyone.
With any club, and particularly ones with quite local ‘competition’, my rule of thumb is to aim for a themed party night as they tend to be busier. |

We live about two hours away from VA and go every so often it’s worth the drive and always feel welcomed there. Staff are lovely, very clean facilities, bar and dj make it great for socialising too.
Very much looking forward to our time there this weekend. |

Sour grapes... it always hurts if your banned from a club for bad behaviour...
We are fourth in the country for reviewers which says it all. We get some lovely people in our club who are very friendly as well as 8 private play rooms, plenty of open play and a fantastic new 30 plus seat jacuzzi
We listen to our customers and do our best to add new items etc to please...

An ulterior motive is easily spotted as we have had so many positive posts and messages about your club. We will be visiting very soon |

Closer than you think |
Every club has its virtues and a lot depends on who’s there that night, mingles is spotlessly clean and very intimate and the owners do a great job making everyone feel welcome.
Jaydees has an amazing hot tub, no extra fees once you pay to get in and plenty of private areas.
The VA is one of my favourite clubs especially on a Saturday or a theme night - Saturday is a neon party night for Jules the owners birthday so of the three that would be my choice and hopefully children permitting I will be there too.
Hope this helps |

We've been to all 3 clubs and all 3 are worth a visit at some point. If finance is an issue as you've mentioned, then Jaydees or Mingles would be a better choice as they both run a BYOB bar which will make a hell of a difference to your wallet if you both drink. Where some clubs have been described as having 'cliques' it's usually a group of people who know each other making conversation, probably not intentional. We go to both Jaydees and Mingles quite often. If you're nervous about going on your own we'd be more than happy to go with you, social meet 1st etc |

They are all worth trying and very different clubs, I agree with the Jaydees comment about sour grapes if people have been barred or not welcome at a club they will look at the negative immediately. I also believe a club is as cliquey as you make it. Ive heard Jaydees called cliquey and also VA. Its up to people to mingle if you go to a club the socialness is so important. I dont agree with Jaydees comments about the club reviews and having more making them better. You are bound to have lots of club reviews if the club continuously ask people to leave reviews. It doesnt mean at all that they are better. Test them out yourselves in whatever order you want. The night is what you make it yourself |
