I got rejected from joining le boudoir

I got an email today telling me that they are oversubscribed and that I am not accepted to join Le Boudoir. Has anyone else been rejected? What is their criteria? I am sad as a group of friends are going in a few weeks time and I can't go now

Hi,

Did you send a clear photo in? I think it is LB's polite way of saying your application photo didn't meet their minimum standards.

It's a smart venue and they are renowned for maintaining higher standards of presentability (inc dress code) from members than clubs outside of London. They get a really good looking crowd there.

Can't comment further because you don't have any photos on your FAB profile. You can always ask them to reconsider, but, because you have friends going doesn't mean its a given that you will be or should be accepted.

As above, they told me they were oversubscribed for ladies and two friends applied a day later and were accepted. They went to a party and said the people there were all stunners and there were no ladies over about size 12 so obviously they didnt want a heffer like me there.

They are very fussy about looks, weight, dress code etc. Maybe try again with a different picture in a few days?

Good luck, it will be a shame if you miss out on going with your friends xx

I'm not keen on elitism and would never ever be accepted by them but there is clearly a market for it. But if they have a criteria and someone doesnt fit that I feel they should say so. If they are worried it might hurt feelings or they will look like epic cunts? Then dont exclude people on appearance. Can't have it all ways

With all due respect, there's some rank club's and real shitholes in the UK. Fair play to a club for installing some standards and making it more desirable. We can't guess as to why OPs application was rejected, only the club can offer that explanation and it may not have anything to do with dress size or looks!

Well perhaps they have changed their guidelines...... I visited numerous clubs here and o/s doing reviews on them and spoke to management for most of them - their guidelines were based on visual with regard to body size First as I said, then clothing and face etc - it’s about a certain presentation and creating connections with visual matches for their membership - they make no hidden agenda with regard to their requirements - when I spoke with them.

The VA - management friendly, fun and caring and facilities are suitable x

Clubs will maintain more respect if they are honest with their members and prospective members. 'Over-subscribed' means something completely different to what some have hinted may be the real reason for rejection. Of course, the application may have been received at a point that they were over-subscribed, so they may have been as clear as they could have been, on that day.

I applied about 5 months ago and I received a email within 48 hours saying they were over subscribed with single males at first I thought it may be my age but when I saw a couple of reviews from single guys a couple of years younger than me I wasn't sure it was that.The picture I used to apply was with me in smart jeans and polo shirt when I thought about it perhaps it would have been better if I was wearing the sort of clothes I would wear normally black trousers and dark shirt.I thinking of applying again the worst they can say is no.

I'm a member and am definitely NOT a size 12!

I encouraged a female friend of mine to join so we could attend an event, shes bigger than me and they accepted her also.

I've been there a few times and have always recieved a lovely welcome.

They've become incredibly popular, so maybe they really are just oversubscribed.

I'd try again, as it really is a lovely, welcoming club.

I get why clubs may want to vet members, but vetting them on what they deem ti be attractive just seems wrong to me. It smacks of the very worst sort of elitism and to then send a reply saying oversubscribed as justifivation is just bullshit. If your membership is over subscribed then just stop accepting applications. Or be honest and say sorry you're not for our club.

People have preferences about who they want to meet and some clubs do too. I'd imagine they have a policy to let people down gently. I see no harm in that.

Some clubs exclude single men or tv's. It's just the same kind of thing.

Well.... myself and Mrs marmite both got rejected last year, maybe they don't like the fact that we are 99% social and only play with people we connect with?

Either that or we are the ugliest fuckers in Essex? Who knows.... beauty is in the eyes of the beholder... and personally think Mrs marmite is a beautiful lady, we have been accepted at the VA and also Mingles clubs, which we enjoy visiting frequently

Most are too cliqey and all it takes is for 1 member to not like you or have something bad to say about you (true or not) and your banned or ostrosized or given a bad reputation

Le Boudoir doesn't judge size or age. That's absolute tosh. I've been many times and do not feel there is any "elitist" attitude at all.

I've seen all sizes and ages there, in fact my regular club friends some are in their 50's, some are bigger than size 12.

I do know they expect a certain level of presentation and profiles are expected to not be a few words and good description of what type of person you are.

I also know they can be over subscribed one day then not the next.

The people that run it are genuine lovely and I am disappointed that people are assuming it's based on looks, posts like this can make or break a club based on assumption, and I don't know if you've noticed but clubs are getting thinner on the ground!!!

Other clubs have rules and dress codes (ie no ripped jeans, no tracksuits etc) let's not drag a club through the mud for making it a decent place to go!!!

Sorry guys but I'm protective over our scene, I'm not massively regular there but mine and my friends experience has been a positive one. X

Thats a shame as the vast majority of clubs do not operate in that way.... far from it, they are fully inclusive.

My experience was from few years ago, not long after they started up. Of course they have every right to select their guest list to fit the clientel they want to attract. Lots of slimmer, better looking people feel they want to meet a similar class of people and there is nothing wrong in that. We feel the same, indeed it says on our profile that whilst we are happy to socialise with anyone, we still prefer to play with people similar in mindset, age and build as us.... Its all about personal preferences.

I did find it odd that the day after I was told they were over subscribed with ladies (lets face it folks, when is that EVER going to happen?!) they accepted my two friends, one being a tiny size 8 the other a 10, but thats just the way the mop flops.

There are of course lots of events and parties specifically for larger ladies... Do the slimmer ladies and couples complain about those?

abfabs suposidly had a dress and behaviour code, also said they controlled the number of single guys on a friday. now tell me, did they? nope, there were people there who looked like theyd slept in a skip. Le Boudoir is a private members club that actually has a policy and sticks to it, other clubs just want to collect the money. their fridays are never packed, they could throw the doors open and get more money if that was their only motivation. Best club ive been too, and ive been to a few.

Very disappointed as particularly with the demise of AbFabs, we aren’t indulged with clubs that some other regions are and did want to give it a try and meet existing friends at the same time.

Guess it’s just disappointing (and a bit of a knock to our confidence) to be screened out through the application process which doesn’t ask for anything more than age details and photos.

Acknowledge that it is a Private Members Club who don’t have to be accountable to anyone, however.

They let me join, so that’s good reason to avoid the place like the plague.

To the guy who didn’t get in and says they have paid girls working there. They do, they’re called ‘the staff’ carrying out a wonderfully unobtrusive job keeping the club clean and ticking over each night.

I’ve been a member almost 3 years and have first hand knowledge. It’s a private members club. It certainly doesn’t judge on looks. Members cover every shape, shade and size possible, those of all faiths and none.

They may or may not take into account the amount of photos, CAPITAL LETTERS, spelling and punctuation in your online profile and / or application. But then again it’s a private members club and who they choose to let in or not, is entirely down to them.

I’ve seen singles and couples members get turned away at the door for poor dress sense, being d*unk / under the influence of drugs and trying to coerce a partner in.

These guys do things the right way. It might irk some, but it is what it is. Their club, their rules.

The truth needs to be told, I think it’s unfair of you to portray Le Boudoir bad, everyone has preference, don’t be offended if your application is rejected, apply to other clubs. Same way you don’t want to meet couples and no one is shooting you.

As far as am concerned leboudoir is the best club in the UK and everyone have met in the club look on point, smells good and looks classy. I turned up there for the first time in a T-shirt and I wasn’t refused entry, friendly and professional staffs. Don’t take this personal

First of all I never applied for membership and not interested.

Also what staff you’re talking about. My reply to lady earlier on by looking at her profile and also backed up by my friends. Apparently the “staff” takes over orgy room and play. Not to mention £80 for 2hrs” “guilt free parties” says it all.

I’ve been a member for three years, never seen the staff play. I’m fact I saw the bouncer (who actually does his job keeping people safe) be asked continually to play by a woman. He said he can’t, he’s not allowed. And those ‘guilt free girls” nights? Sorry to shatter any illusions but those gb nights at all the other clubs run by outside operators, what do you think the set up there is? Sounds like people applied for membership knowing they may not be acccepted, that inherent in applying for something, you were rejected. Just move on.

There's nothing to be afraid of, Le Boudoir are very much in the minority of vetting potential members. The vast majority of clubs don't, especially for couples and single females.

I think it's because Le Boudoir place themselves in the same sort of market as parties like Fever and Killing Kittens so they vet potential members to keep their nights for "their type" of crowd

Key word in your reply is apparently.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion.

I find that if one wants to comment about something, then it’s usually best to be talking from experience of the subject matter.

As the subject is Le Boudoir, you’re relying on hearsay and friends to make your point. As you’ve never been and your friends clearly haven’t, do us all a favour and stop talking about something you have no experience of.

Having attended several clubs, a few of which I received very unwanted attention, going to a club that checks people out before accepting them as members is IMO a relief.

Yes they have a criteria, but it's based on more than just appearance.

This thread kinda gives me a chuckle, people are moaning that they were refused entry based on looks, now how many of those moaning have rejected a potential meet because they looked at the photo and said no not for us!?

Personally I wouldn't even try to apply as my wife already feels low about her figure so wouldn't want her to receive a potential knock on her confidence. Regardless whether it's because they actually are over subscribed or because you don't fit their criteria, nobody likes rejection.

I’ve been to LB a good few times and it’s a classy club that maintains a high standard but as previous posters have said I’ve seen all sizes and ages there.

We went to a club in Paris which we were told had a strict entry policy and we read lots of stories of people being rejected on the door on age and looks grounds.

Given our advanced ages we felt there was a good chance we would get rejected so approached with some trepidation. The guy on the door looked the size 8 Katie up and down and let us in. He didn't even look at me.

And that was par for the course inside. Slim women and average men. The only guy Katie fancied was the barman!

We applied and were accepted. We have been once and are definitely returning. I wonder if maybe it's an automated thing recently.

I think feedback on the club forum gives an accurate idea, but we found the club nice. As stated you are expected to adhere to the standard dress code.

I liked the fact it was a bit hidden from outside, and inside we found the place done up nicely. The Polish lady and English partner who own the club were really nice, and we had a good chat with them as we were waiting for our Uber.

In regards the people, it was a nice mix of attractive people, typical to how you would find at the Vanilla Alternative - it wasn't intimidating. There were a few particularly good looking younger lifestyle people who made an above average effort with some spectacular outfits - but this just added to the mix. There was a lot of play in the mixed playroom on the upper floor.

We are friends on Fab with Leboudoirclub - why not message them if you think there's been an error or something. As stated above it was a friendly club and we would recommend it.

I really enjoy Le Boudior and can vouch for my friend HornyGent has said. This is one of the best swingers club in London. Personally I have found the Le Boudior Team friendly, amazing and very helpful.

As an Asian man I never had a problem with my membership and I found people of all shapes and sizes at the club, different nationalities and cultures.

I have seen in the past all these rubbish claims that Le Boudior is elitist, sexist, racist, homophobic, and body facist.

I cannot disagree more! Le Boudoir

Run some amazing nights that cater for different people and they always welcome to ideas.

People made comments about a club they never visited!

They take pride in there appearance and maintain the place to a high standard. They recognise who they clientele are and do care for it. They are based it the city so operate as a Private city members club.

As for escorts and paid working girls, this is all bullshit! Le Boudior does not need to do this!

So all the haters of Le Boudior keep churning your shit as you give them more publicity! And make us loyal fans even more determined to visit out favourite establishment!

For those that say to boycott the club the proof is in the pudding they ever Le Boudior night is over subscribed!

We visited Le Boudoir recently and had a great time ! With regards to the comments regarding ‘Elitism’ we found there to be wide range of couples and singles on the night we attended, all of which I’m sure appealed to different tastes - we’re all different after all !

"Le Boudoir doesn't judge size or age. That's absolute tosh. I've been many times and do not feel there is any "elitist" attitude at all.

I've seen all sizes and ages there, in fact my regular club friends some are in their 50's, some are bigger than size 12.

I do know they expect a certain level of presentation and profiles are expected to not be a few words and good description of what type of person you are.

I also know they can be over subscribed one day then not the next.

Other clubs have rules and dress codes (ie no ripped jeans, no tracksuits etc) let's not drag a club through the mud for making it a decent place to go!!!

I for one wasn’t whining, I merely stated that I was reluctant to apply as I find the mystery selection process intimidating. And I most certainly don’t fuck anyone that asks.

as i said... all well and good defending, by in this case you have to remember you are a "have".... as in you are allowed to go....

so try seeing it from the point of view of a "have not" and then maybe have a bit of empathy....

just putting that out there.....

defending can look like gloating... and gloating can look like boasting.

I cou;dn;t agree more. I am happy to avoid the likes of killing kittens because I know I am not theor target and that's fine. But to apply to join a club and get assessed by a picture alone - I'm not doing that.

If you have a membership criteria, state it. Not because I;m worried I'll get declined, not so that I can try and make sure I match it but because it will help me decide if it's something I might want to go to

Clubs turning people away for being too scruffy or too inebriated is common sense. And it's no way comparable to declining membership based on a single picture

If people even considered their language it might help, the phrase "we have standards" is being bandied around a lot, I understand a club may have membership criteria, same as individuals have preferences, but to call these "standards" implies everything else is therefore sub-standard. Call me pedantic but its stuff like this that feeds the 'elitism' tag. That those that get in are 'the best' and everyone else is below that.

Fair point I’m certainly not gloating and I would protect any of the wonderful clubs I have been lucky enough to attend what I am saying is that I have seen all shapes and sizes in the club.
