Do you not think the Reeperbahn is tacky and overpriced though?
It's full of seedy, expensive strips clubs, super expensive sex shops and homeless people everywhere?! There are far better places in Hamburg to go to where there are actual swingers clubs and just strip joints and brothels!!!
Head to Club Equinoxe. It's a proper swingers club, not seedy and well run. We go all over Germany and the best clubs are away from the red light districts xx |

Top post!
There was a time in the 70's and 80's when Hamburg gained a reputation because "Grosse Freiheit" (a side street off Reeperbahn) had 10 or 11 clubs all of which had "Revue Bar" shows which included full-on sex for all to see, and occasionally participate in. ALL those clubs are now gone, and have been replaced by "American" style Lap or Pole-Dancing joints. Just like Soho isn't what it used to be, so Hamburg isn't either. |

Totally agree!! The only time we go to Reeperbahn now is at Christmas as the St Pauli Christmas market is actually quite cool and the stages have some good shows, but that part of Hamburg needs a massive overhaul and clean up job! |

Hubby speaks fluenr high german and many friends in North Germany most find that the reeperbahn is just a tourist trap over priced, dirty and full of drug pushers.
We prefer staying away from most german town centres as the real nice swinger clubs tend to be 15-30mins outside. Don't forget german clubs are not like English ones...so check with club you going to what dress codes exists and what kind of night it is...not to turn up on full fetish night if that isn't your kind of thing |

I would say that about any English club as well!!! Most UK clubs won't let people just walk in, especially guys.
We have found that a lot of the good German clubs are fetish clubs with swinging events, which suits me to be honest. The top clubs also blow UK clubs out of the water!!!!

"...I would love to be multi lingual! German is my limit!! hahaha..."
Same here. What I would give now to have learned a bit of Polish off my Dad. Still, being able to speak fluent German has helped on so many occasions. You get a certain "novelty value". An Englishman who can speak German is almost unheard of over there. And it gets you a lot further than the traditional English approach of "if they don't understand you, shout louder".
Back on topic now, and going back a few years, there were two swingers clubs in Hamburg that were genuinely good. Both appear to have gone now, but both were in the city. One was in the streets on the other side of Grosse Freiheit from Reeperbahn, in what would pass for an appartment block, and the other was in a detached house the suburbs. These clubs seem to come and go, so it's worth doing research before each trip as last years information could be well out of date. |

I know what you mean; I still love to see the faces of German people when I chat to them in bars etc... it definitely does get you a long way and sometimes an extra shot of gin |
