Are clubs going to tighten up security to protect our privacy? Some strict on id for signing up yet allow members to use their mobiles in club. Surely this needs policing on entry. In clubs you should be able to relax and enjoy the moment and not worry someone is taking pics never mind a non genuine swinger being in club grassing up!

Given reporters try & get in clubs, some have fake profiles on here - all clubs should follow same protocol for joining & privacy. 2 x clubs we've been to recently only ask your 1st name on entry! One fill in form but no id requested. Others form, id but don't remember if vetted to reveal press etc ie declaration - all allow mobiles into the club (seen people texting away on them). There is only 1 x club that we go that are strict id, declaration & mobiles removed- you can go & see security through the night & check mobile.

I've been in a club (lounge area)where a punter had his phone out.

Another guy (not staff member) had to go across and tell him to put it away, so yes it does happen.

We find it's self policing....strictly no phones policy gets backed up members who will tell others to put them away. Any argument then they are ejected from the club by the staff.....and anyway I find it extremely rude when out socially and people are on their phones so it should be no different in a club.

This for us, in all the time we have been to clubs i believe we have only had one phone call we needed to take.

The rest of the time they stay in our pockets but then we don't use our phones on a normal night out either if we're together.

It is policed by the club of course but they can't have staff at every point in the club at all times....by self policing I meant responsible club goers will look out for issues such as this as it's in everyone's interest.

Loads of gigs you go to now phones have to be handed in and locked away at the door.

I think it should be the same policy at a club.

You can always go check your phone if you need to.

Agree only club I know is Xtasia that have numbered bags in cupboard you put your mobile in. This is manned by bouncer & can be checked at anytime. Also concerned at some clubs no membership procedure just give first names at reception. This coupled with phones on person not difficult for pics to be taken & leaked

We are very strict, which doesn't suit everybody and it's sometimes discussed in chat and on here.

We insist on photo ID, people fill in forms, we check it against the ID. The form has a legal disclaimer on there about us protecting data and a paragraph about the press/selling stories etc...

We ask everyone to put phones in their locker on arrival and there are signs EVERYWHERE about the prohibition of mobiles and cameras. If people are caught with their phone out, staff will approach, ask to see the gallery. If there are pics on there, they are deleted in the presence of the staff member and the person is kicked out and banned. If there are no pics on there, they are warned, the phone goes in the locker and we keep an eye on them. This works well and because everyone knows that we are super strict (and nobody wants to cross me), we have a happy ship.

I have been to many clubs in the north west and midlands and it's surprising how many will accept any name they are given on the way in. Years ago, I actually went through a phase of giving quirky names just for shits and giggles and to see if anyone questioned me; I was never questioned. Nowadays, I am known and couldn't get away with saying my name was Tracey Swallows or Sam Sung hahahaha

That is reassuring & excellent procedure. There are clubs we won't be going back to now due to slack procedures.

I think what is key is collective policing. Everyone taking responisbility to challenge anyone using prohibited items. And a zero tolerance on people using such devises in prohibited areas.

All clubs in the uk are members clubs and policing should be upheld by the members. Saying that in 30 years of swinging Iv never seen show or heard of any pics or videos taken secretly in any club. And Iv seen many public figures in clubs and no ones ever taken a pic. So I’m sure mr and Mrs average has nothing to worry about. With today’s technology who needs a phone anyway. ..... this issue is the loc ness monster of swinging. Often talked about and debated and never actually seen

At CJs in Glasgow on first visit you have to take ID to verify name and address. Phones are put in numbered bags and kept locked up.

It’s well run and yes we self police if someone takes a phone out.

Generally a sensible policy and probably goes as far as you can but deleting photos on a camera card does not 'delete' them it only changes the header on the file to tell the camera that they are 'deleted' and can then be overwritten. So in fact the photos remain and can easily be recovered by a multitude of free recovery software including Recuva.

If someone is willing to go that far in a swingers club, then we're all f*cked!!! hahahaha Sorry, not making light of it, but we do what we can...if someone really wants to get photos of swingers in action, then they will. Look what happened at Swingfields. All we can do is maintain the policies that we feel work in our club and stay vigilant...all of us! We all have a joint responsibility to look out for one another in a members club and act xx

Thing is if reporters want to take pictures they don't need phones to take them. Cameras can be hidden in a pair of glasses for example. So should people be forced to hand in their glasses at the door ?

Don't loose sight of the fact that if they sign club T&C's to say they aren't press, then use covert cameras in acts of subterfuge, to break the privacy of individuals in a private members club enjoying some legal fun....then they are the ones who'll be fucked. IPSO

That is why we feel clubs need to be more proactive in their vetting procedure.

Cupids have VERY strict & enforced rules re mobile phones & any technology capable of capturing an image. Phones MUST be left in secure lockers. Should a customer need to make a call or check for important messages they can return to their locker at anytime to do so. With the advent of cloud tech - face time a image can be captured and deleted from the device but instantly uploaded to the cloud. It’s also one of the reasons we remain a dress down club - fewer places to hide a phone (awaits the naughty comments). Cupids “where the customer comes first”

Fipeter, as you are repeatedly making the claim. Which club only asks for first names and no ID?

As you can see a number of clubs have said that;s not their policy and of the dozen or so clubs I've been to, I've never experienced anything that lax.

We've been to two clubs which didn't ask for ID, just asked us to sign in as we paid. Another asked for ID the first time, when we went the second we went to offer it and they said don't worry we recognise you, but I doubt they did. They are all fairly local to us.

Yes..we have a great reputation for maintaining our rules; nobody is exempt, including friends. Somebody found this out a couple of months ago, which broke me a little to be honest but if I can't uphold my own rules then I can't expect our guests to play within them xx
