This is more aimed at the people who run the swing clubs
I'd like to know what or entails starting up a swing club club...
Like i know there must be licences involved and stuff
But like could someone contact me even if private and tell me everything you had and have to do to have and run your club
I loved going to a club, but i work long hrs and donr have the best of finances, so the travel to the club i love can be hard
I jst wandered if i looked into it, if there was a wwy of looking at seeing if someone would be willing to start one up more locally
Sorry if this is not the right section to ask this |

Lots of initial costs including will your local council license one?
Running costs?
Competition from other clubs?
Can you attract enough people?
Maybe all the single men on here who can't get meets and want help with their profiles.
Long antisocial hours?
Start one tomorrow! |

Is Hastings the right area ?? My friend has just inherited a property down there, 1 bed flat worth around 60k, doesn't seem too affluent with all due respect. |

I'd start by talking to your local council, or the council in the area you'd like to open. They will know what criteria any venues will need to meet and they are there to help you navigate their system. |

"About £80-100 k. South coast needs one but need deep pockets. "
Yes yes yes to a South coast club!
I'm surprised Brighton doesnthave a swingers club - surely it could be a success given the massive LGBT scene here which the club could tap into. |

Why not travel to lots of clubs to ask them in person? Even if you decide not to do a club it’s gonna be fun! Lol
Approach like any business, get a business plan together reference running costs allow lots for cleaning materials. The alcohol licence is the only real hoop of choice that the council can effect. You will also need a licence for music, dancing and after some hours even hot drinks! The best location is accessible with parking and away from residential areas. Best of luck |

Yes, we have Bristol Gardens spa here, which is a naturist spa, not a swingers club. I know the owners well and it's a fabulous place to go hang out in the nude, but it's not a place to go and dance round in your lingerie and end up wrapped around a couple of delicious men. |

Many LGBT identifying people are wary of swinging because it's so centred on straight people. (Also most LGBT people are monogamous, like most straight people). |

You need around 100k to start off with to get the place in a good condition and with all the right licences and insurances.
Then you need to be sure you can make enough to cover the VERY high overheads. Would you be prepared to pay £600-800 per month just on laundry? If not, don't even go there.
People think clubs are a gold mine! THEY ARE NOT! They are money pits and will take 80 -100 hours per week of your life. If you are not passionate about running a swinging club, then it's not for you as people don't get into this for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
Do what everyone else seems to be doing at the moment and hire an apartment to run a private party on your terms. Oh and this is another reason why you shouldn't open a club...private parties are killing a lot of clubs! We actually run private parties from Townhouse, so we do just fine, but I know clubs out there who are struggling to break even because people out there are running apartment parties/house parties regularly, charging for entry and not paying taxes. Bitter?? HELL YES! Why should we all struggle to run legally when people out there are taking business away from clubs AND not declaring their earnings?
Anyway, my advice is don't even go there with opening a club in this climate, you will regret it |

Here bloody here!
My largest bills are insurance, hot tub maintenance, water, gas & electricity....thats after rent and wages....
And tbh I dont think its just private charged parties that run without proper approvals.
Actually getting an insurance company to cover the parties too some doing!
And when people ask why we charge membership fees? |

I suspect it's very hard to make a good living legally in any kind of sex related business. Most people will disapprove of what you are doing even if you do operate completely legally and will put all sorts of barriers in your way.
As has been said, only get into the business if you have a passion for it, are prepared to work very long hours, happy to face disapproval from most people you deal with and don't want a large income. |

Get the location right a friend of mine opened one
On the corner of a council estate and as soon as the kids found out what it was they would shout out rude things to the people going inside,
Also stuck things on the cars only lasted about a month we had put loads into it to get it going, |

Probably get us banned from your club for this but just an observation the thing I would ask myself as an owner is why would people want to go to these (grey market parties). Instead of the established clubs. It's a question that I have asked myself ( we do attend clubs but not private chargeable partys..). My view is they are 2 different things, and not in direct competition it's. I you want regular safe clean fun you go to clubs if you want a cheap few hours of sex then that's parties could be for you.
The reason clubs are struggling is supply and demand you only have to look at the number of clubs around the country now compared to 5 years ago. We could get to 50 clubs from here within 2 hrs in the car. Yes there are more swingers now but they arn,t all club goers
It like any business you set you stall out to attract customers you can't force them to use you and you can't stop others from starting a business like yours either. You just have to provide a good service at a price your customers will see as value. It's like any business you have to sell your difference the only difference a swingers clubs attraction is actually it's customers that use it get that wrong and that will put people off coming twice. |

Sorry if this is not the right section to ask this" There are whole sections of the pub trade that function on property companies who masquerade as breweries enticing in people who want to run a business but don't know how pubs work. I mention that only as evidence that it's not just sex clubs and sex businesses where people burn money pursuing the dream of turning something they like (whether it be drinking or fucking) into a business.
My view is there are huge aspects of ClubF's model that I really respect and recognise as good business decisions. Some clubs have lots of pre-opening and early operational hassles, not least form wannabe politicians who wanted to build a career on bigotry. Public relations and winning those arguments can be a big part of the business in some parts of the country.
I also think that unless you plan to open in a commercial building in a conurbation don't even consider an alcohol licence.
Parties aren't easy to organize - and never have been. Don't believe me? There's a book called Both The Ladies and the Gentlemen from the 70s by William Donaldson that is hugely funny and painfully accurate.
How good are you at social media marketing and SEO? Any new business in this sector no will need to be very good at it.
All in all, my advice would be that if you;re asking these questions here, you may need to think again...

Lol...why on earth would an opinion on Fab get you barred from our club?????? Hahaha
We have a great business model and our continued success and busy events is testament to that but my point of trying to give people a reality check of why clubs are not money trees and shouldn't be entered into lightly has been lost. But moving on from that, the northwest has the greatest concentration of clubs in the country and this along with the financial climate, the huge amount of private parties, legislation and rising overheads has affected many clubs, especially in our region. Believe me, I know my business and the field in which we operate! |
