Was thinking of visiting the VA for the first time soon, but due to work and not having a car would need to stay somewhere close by.

They have hotel rooms but does anyone know how far in advcance you’d have to book them and for that matter if they are any good?

Thank you x

Hotel rooms at The Vanilla Alternative are clean and comfortable. It's best to book about a month in advance to ensure you can get a room for the date chosen. Sometimes, because of cancellations, rooms become available at short notice. Photographs of the rooms are on the club's website

We love VA and tend to stay over...some of the rooms are a little small but very clean and comfortable and so handy that you can just walk upstairs afterwards or during if you want more private play

We book short notice sometimes so definitely worth checking xx

Am going there on 1st Dec but think all rooms are booked.

Managed to get into the Travelodge (Wyboston) for about £45.

Does anyone know if this a walkable distance to the VA, or would a taxi be needed!

You need a taxi. My friend and I will be going from there so happy to share. VA used to run a taxi from the lovely guy behind the bar. I’ll check if they still do or if he’s working that night.

Would need a taxi as it’s on the A1 so nowhere to walk. We stayed there recently and I think the taxi was about £11 one way.

Guess it depends on how many are going from the Travelodge but certainly makes sense to start the night off sharing

Well my friend and I are happy to share. Either minibus or just a taxi that does a few runs. Then we don’t all need to leave together. It’s only a 5 minute drive.

Rooms are cosy and clean with very comfortable beds very handy too, means no taxis and at the end of the night you can just wander up to bed!

It does get booked up quite far in advance so always best to ring as early as you can.

it's not the Ritz but the rooms are comfortable and more than adequate for a night, great value, very handy for an impromptu costume change and often the place where some more private or later play between residents. There are 2 rooms that share a bathroom so book earlier rather than later to ensure you get an en suite.

we stay if we can and have had some great breakfast debriefs with old and new friends from the night before at the Little Chef up the road...

As mentioned previously:

The Travelodge A1 North, Nr. Chawston, Black Cat Roundabout, Bedford, MK44 3BE

That’s the one that I’ve booked into - think it was £45.

Not sure what time I’m planning on getting to VA but will probably have a drink in the bar first... damn I haven’t even checked if there is a bar there!!!

There and to the left a bit

Definitely recommend the rooms at VA - they're clean, comfortable and have the advantage of being upstairs from the club itself - very comparable to Travelodge/Premier Inn in terms of quality and price

Absolutely bang on. And if you're spending too much time studying the room, you're definitely doing it wrong.

For Bi-Nights, people do start arriving soon after 8 and most are there by about 9.30 although the front door stays open until 11pm.

....I’ll break the norm!

We always walk from the travelodge (not because we’re tight) I can confirm it’s a 15 minute walk and there is pavement all the way, lorries do trundle past pretty fast ! ( if it’s raining then it’s a cab - couldn’t get my hair wet )

We walk as it eases pre nerves ( yes even though been many times we still get them !)

We’ve even walked back- once stopping for a a quickie under the bridge

If you see us in our high vis vests don’t wave !!!

(Just kidding about the high vis )

We may even walk next Friday if it’s not raining !!
