Pandora's is a gay sauna during the day
Jump to: Newest in thread
So 7 days a week, during the day, Steam gay sauna that previously operated in Armley prior to burning down, has now re-opened at Pandora's.
Is the club being sub-contracted during the day for the use of the facilities? Is it a separate operation, with separate ownership and separate members?
Is it now a gay sauna by day and a swingers club by night? |

There's a club in Bury that does something similar: It's Nero's Gay Sauna up to 7pm, then closes for an hour and becomes Partners' Swingers Club from 8pm onwards.
I always think it's a pretty shitty compromise. And, from an opening hours point of view, the gay and bi guys end up getting the thin end of the wedge.
I only went to Steam twice, but it felt like a gay sauna rather than a swingers club. The glory holes everywhere. The emphasis on private rooms. The piss room. I bet you won't get any of this at a venue that's expected to pander to heterosexual tastes most of the time.
You could also, I believe, stop overnight quite cheaply at the old Steam. I often thought about crashing there after a night out in Leeds, but never got around to doing it. |

We went to Partners and thought it was really well equipped for swingers. A gay sauna in Hull has just started doing the same. We think it's a great idea and benefits both sides. Better to have one big thriving club than 2 struggling ones. |

"I suppose that there is insufficient trade either for another dedicated swingers club or gay sauna, so the same building has to be both.
"
If that's what's really going on. Was the old Steam having financial difficulties before it burned down? Leeds does have at least one other sauna that I know of. I forget the name, but it's just off Lower Briggate, behind Viaduct.
Perhaps the sad thing here is that we still need separate zones for the gays and the swingers. That homophobia and heterophobia exist to a point where the two can't share the same venue at the same time. I'd love to see swinging get over its "Gay sex between women? Bring it on! Gay sex between men? Backs to the walls, lads!" Attitude. Equally, I think a few gay men need to grow up and realise they won't actually be mentally scarred by the sight of breasts or a vagina. |

We don't need seperate venues, a variety of nights is usually the best way, like most clubs do. As far as we've seen gay saunas don't let women in at all, which is more like heterophobia and we find most swingers will mix with anyone. socially. |

Hi everyone,
Steam complex operates during the day in the same building as Pandora, which operates in the evenings.
We do apologise if this seems homophobic/heterophobic to anyone, no offence was intended at all. It has just worked out that the Steam complex people thought that their business would operate better during the day, with ours doing better on a night.
Just to be clear, Pandora and Steam complex are two completely separate businesses that just run in the same building.
If anyone does have any further questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Sounds like a win win situation for both clubs x

It's not the first and won't be last I think it's the future SPACE SHARING( RENT A CLUB ) call it what you want ..
There's a couple of clubs in Lancashire that do a similar scheme....
More choices again.
Every ones a winner !

Except you are a loser, not a winner if you want to go to a swingers club during the day, or a gay sauna in the evening.
Other swingers clubs and gay saunas in the area offer a day and evening availability. Since all require a membership fee, why pay for a restricted service? |
