club reviews

Anyone know how or why club reviews may be deleted, as whilst going through certain clubs we have noticed 'Avoid' or more negative reviews and then when we have looked again these have disappeared.

Surely the point of the review section is to be able to give an accurate view of a person's thoughts on a club, and that shouldn't be censored should someone else or a club disagree?

I've seen reviews deleted for the attic. There is a couple who have been banned from the club who post a weekly avoid review which is then defended in reviews by other guests. These do get reported to the site as fake reviews and removed.

We did a review for the Attic sometime last year which was not very complimentary and that disappeared after a couple of days. I sent another stating it was the second one sent and actually got a response from the club on the review page. They denied removing the original but someone must have done.

incognito mode ;-)

If you received a bad verification you wouldn't show it

The club review system is just the same, the club/regulars/groupies just report bad reviews,it's bad publicity, the regulars/groupies all pounce on these bad reviews with there exaggerated good reviews, then there is a gap

Hence I've never given a bad review no point, the system does not get a true picture of real oppinions

I just stop going to that place,it's best to make your own mind up about a club, than read reviews especially when you see some are there own hosting team with there numerous profiles writing many of them

Club reviews are generally worthless, most written by regulars & club groupies, the only barometer and usefulness is gauging the reaction to a negative review, how the regulars/groupies/hosts & club owners react to that review, lately we've seen one club react to a somewhat ridiculous negative review by people verbal attacking, insinuating wrongdoing and just damn right nastiness aimed at the reviewer, thus this achieved two things, puts people off writing negative reviews and puts other people off going to that club if there is such a pack mentality or for want of a better word, a clique!

Agreed most reviews are pretty worthless. That being said this site provides a place for them and that being the case people should be allowed to voice there opinion. Opinions are neither right or wrong, they are simply opinion. Either you allow people to speak their minds or you dont and if it's the latter then the reviews section should be scrapped altogether. Btw, "club groupies", very good lol.

It needs changing. So there can be a reply to negative reviews. Some avoid ones are genuine. But one mans meat is another mans poison ..... The ironic thing is a club is made up of those who go. So the review is always more based on who was there .... If had a great night on " Rubbish nights " and a Rubbish one on s night people rave about.

I agree. What annoys me is when people put avoid because they had a bad experience with another customer. That's like saying I'll avoid the petrol station because someone drove into me at the pumps!

I do get that clientele does form a part of the review but you have to be careful. I prefer to say how the staff were, cleanliness etc. I think that's far more useful.

I take reviews with a pinch of salt (unless they are overwhelmingly bad ) and like to make our own decision.

Go support your local club!

To the op. Yes I've seen obviously made up trolling reviews removed before.

What really annoys us is when someone puts an avoid review when they have been ejected for rule breaking or bad behavior.

It is all well and good leaving your opinion about a club in a review, but it baffles us why people would leave derogatory comments about the clubs members and staff, it is not necessary. So come on lets all just be sensible about what we write and not be personal, think of others feelings as well.

Surely someones opinion on staff fall well within the boundries of a review, being that these people are employed by the club owners and are therefore representative of the club.

Agreed same goes for members too, they are members and as such should abide by the rules of the club and are a reflection on the club. Just like with any members club

It has to be accepted that the internet has opened up many avenues for clubs to advertise what they have to offer. Of course these opportunities allow anyone to voice there opinions on what has been offered. Every club gets both good and bad reviews, thats just the way of the modern online world. Bottom line, accept it or don't but dont bitch about it when people complain.

O o O oo

Just to clarify, club owners can't remove reviews but they do have a right to reply if they don't agree with the review.

Mods are not allowed to remove ANY review, good or bad. The only time anything will be removed is if the post is not actually a review...EG someone writes an avoid review and people answer that review to tell them they are wrong to write it etc or the "review" is not a review or a personal attack etc

What clubs are missing off the list you'd like to see added?

Me and my ex left a negative review of a well-known West Midlands club when we had our couples profile on here,we clearly stated that the club itself was great but a particular staff member was a real problem and had made us and several other guests feel very uncomfortable with his behaviour. We didn't say anything that would identify the staff member, and we also said that ourselves and at least three other couples mentioned our concerns to other staff on the night yet the staff member continued with his behaviour.A few days later our review had been removed. So to me the review system is worthless really.
